I've logged onto Reddit twice. The people on there are seriously stupid. It's not that I am edgy or that I disagree with them, but there's a lower level of intelligence and comedy on that website.
4chan is great. Seems like many of the boards have slowed down though, and become low energy. /b/ was like an angry hurricane of legitimately insane people who wanted to see the world burn

The level of energy on that board was great. Constant high quality OC, and plenty of extreme weirdos who were definitely not roleplaying. The amount of crazy shit they would find and research on that board was nuts

OP, an oldfag is someone who has been on 4chan long enough to "get" the culture. Not the facsimile, normie-induced post-ironic pseudo-culture of the 2010s.
For that, I'd put the limit on 2007.
That said, in the future I think the definition of an oldfag will shift to someone who has been on 4chan for atleast as long as Moot's reign was. So roughly 10 years.

Not gonna happen. The internet went to shit post-2009 around the time it started to become popular (all the "new" people starting off on myspace and all). Oldfags earned their titles because they were the originals in a one-time-only scene, like how the social setting of love and drugs reported in the 70's is nothing like how it is today.

You have to have been on 4chan as many years as it had been since it was founded from when you started lurking. For example, if you started browsing in 2006, you'd be an oldfag in 2009. If you started browsing in 2010, you'd be an oldfag in 2017.
