My Very First Job was as a nurse assistant at a nursing home. Nurses treat elderly and disabled people like shit. People with true, severe autism can't take care of themselves so good and when our relatives give up on us, we will either go homeless or be shoved into a living facility. We will be abused and malnourished. We will lose our rights as our providers get power of attorney over us and embezzles our social security checks. We may not be murdered directly for being autist, but people can marginalize us into bleak circumstances to the point of suicide.
When it comes to searching for jobs, in LA there are a couple of LGBT centers that has higher success rates of placing transgender people in employment than the city's Department of Vocational Rehabilitation did for people with legitimate disabilities that they didn't choose, simply because transgender people are "beautiful" and are more aesthetically pleasing and not as embarrassing and sadcringe-inducing as, say, someone like me.
