I'll start. Animal Crossing on the GC in the winter was so fucking comfy. Curled up in front of the tv in PJs, listening to the late night tunes. I used to do this reset trick where you'd set the internal clock to Christmas and your in-game-mom would send you a decent amount of money. Rinse and repeat, although it would fuck up your town a bit.

The definition of comfy for me was my 8th grade summer, I was old enough to be aware of what I was, but young enough to not have a summer job so a lot of my time was spent bored.
I also had a lot of anxiety attacks because I dunno, puberty and I was making my first steps into actual person ( I wouldn't even consider myself a person before that, I dont remember much, and I definitely dont remember having any decisions).
Long story short, I used to have sleepless nights watching Star trek voyager all night on DVR, that shit was so comfy, I know its not the best star trek but it holds a special place in my heart, helped me get through some tough times.

So much of my life was spent playing that game, I even had a best friend who played it with me (an RL friend, not a online friend).

Animal Crossing is a very very comfy game. I miss playing the gamecube variant as that one is my absolute favorite. The new ones just don't feel right.
While this is technically not windows 98, I do like the feel of this XFCE theme that tries to be like it. I think it is quiet comfy for an os.

I tried out a morrowind in oblivion rehaul, but it was literally like the oblivion game in with morrowind map and UI. It had the exact same skills and stats.
I would rather have a morrowind with just slightly upgraded UI and graphics. The missing attacks all the time is unbearable, and the lack of keyboard shortcuts for like opening and closing containers is frustrating.
The mod I downloaded is called morroblivion, and its like if you just played oblivion with the morrowind map and quests. Its awkward because the chat system in oblivion is shit compared to morrowind.

The one with constellations is Wild World, which I haven't played. I do play New Leaf for the 3DS, which I think captures a lot of the GameCube version's charm. The animals lost personality though.

I had the same issue too. I think you can either use CHMOD command on the terminal or by opening your file manager via root user on terminal. If you use the first method, you only have to do it one time and then you can add themes without having to alter permissions. Putting themes and icons to your folder will not mess up anything. I will try to find you the link to changing the permissions on folders.

Dont feel bad man. I will be honest. I mostly figured out Linux though trial and error. 80 percent of my knowledge was the result of looking up solutions online. I believe you can rice Windows 7 but I am not familiar with ricing windows (I would assume it might be easier though more restrictive).
