It's actually really easy to quit. I used for 2 years, used every day. My parents did it, best friend did it; pretty much everyone around me used. All it took was getting away from the environment and knowing that being addicted to meth wasn't the future I wanted for myself.
It's truly a mental thing. If someone doesn't want to get better, they'll never stop. The drug doesn't have some magic power over you.

Almost no one starts by injecting heroin. They almost always start with pain pills. Codeine. Oxycodone. Percs. Vikodin.
Those get expensive though as your tolerance goes up. Then you might start snorting heroin. Cheaper, but you still are putting some to waste. When you are really addicted, THEN you start injecting.
