For panic attacks, you could try alprazolam. I can't recommend taking benzos on a regular basis though. Klonopin might be OK for people with GAD. These days, I just have a shot or two to calm my nerves when I feel tense.
Is it normal to cry when you get anxiety attacks? I just feel really overwhelmed when family members ask me difficult questions and pressure me.
I use Xanax for panic attacks. I don't take anything for anxiety in general though, I just live with it. My therapist wants me on SSRIs but fuck that, honestly.

Gotta get on an ssri dude. It doesn't prevent a panic attack but it gives you a buffer so you don't bounce too far low when it hits. It's hard to explain, but when I get panic attacks while on drugs they just make me feel awful for a day or so, instead of putting me on the floor of my bathroom for a week like they did before.
Talk to a doctor and they'll start you on a low dose, then just go up as you feel the need. Remember that higher dose doesn't mean more effective treatment - neurobiology doesn't work that way. Sometimes you just need the 5 or 10mg a day to keep you sane.
