I don't know that there is a "communist solution" per se. I mean it's probably safe to say that all communists want a society that lacks the kind of exploitation that defines capitalism, but there's a lot of views about how that could or should come about. I haven't read much of him, but I think Marx's view was that it was one of two inevitable outcomes, the other being social collapse due to the unrestrained contradictions of capitalism, but that workers themselves would have to rise up. Notably, Marx believed communism would necessarily be state-free, so it's not wrong or self-serving to say that dictatorship is not Marxian communism. For his part, Keynes thought that the most important thing was to protect capitalism from itself, and he was strongly anti-communist, while if anything the death of capitalism will be the classical liberals who think the solution to all capitalism's problems is more capitalism.
Anyway, I'm personally sympathetic to the point that capitalism is fatally flawed and will have to give way at some point. Give way to what? Communism is certainly the optimistic answer.

That's fair. My main issue was less to do with the form of the society itself but how do you protect the workers state once it arrives without going too far and turning it into a paranoid dictatorship.
Take Cuba for instance..without the paranoia caused by constant aggression by the local superpower it'd be a pretty sweet place to live (compared to its neighbour's) but how do you create the workers state without inviting that kind of aggression?
