what games do my fellow robots play? i seem to have watched all the good anime and am having a tough time getting back into gaming, the only games i can play are ones i have already played for 10 years because i know how to play them, anything new i am afraid of failing at and haven't tried. do games exist that you can "learn by doing" these days or is it all extremely difficult now?
>>
Im playing halo right now

Play Dark Souls

It's really not as hard as everyone makes it out and it's fun

Mind games
>>
TF2 is always fun, mixed in with some roguelites like Isaac or Nuclear Throne.
>>
>>28053391
I play World of Tanks, but it's a huge mess of need-to-know concealed information and rng.

I do like how much I learned about ww2 and post war armored vehicles, but I can't recommend it to a scrub like yourself.

Try minesweeper.

League of Legends, it's a good game to pass the time and you can see yourself getting better quite often.
>>
Dwarf Fortress.

I like it as neckbeardy it seems, it makes its own stories and has endless replay value, but has a ridiculous learning curve.
>>

been playing verdun lately
>>
not a whole lot of games but i do find them great for escaping
>>
Dwarf fortress!!!

Incredible, difficult and unpredictable game. If you are a real gamer you will probably enjoy it. It's creative and single playee also. I would like to see dwarf fortress multiplayer.

I've got like 8k hours in dota 2 and am quite "burnt out" from moba games. My life was basically
2006-2012: cs
2012-present: dota 2

I've gotten to the point where I am considered "good" but I don't want to be a pro and don't enjoy the games anymore

Any robots got any experience with Japanese single player games that are comfy? I'm a weeb but I haven't really played any console games or other Japanese games besides occasional fighting games. Not talking about VNs btw.
>>
Only game I play is Rugby 08 (PS2)
>>
dungeon crawl stone soup , cogmind, aliensrl
roguelikes in general
>>
>>28053961
And if you like that, you'll also like the Momodora series of games
>>

Yume Nikki is pretty comfy, but you can get frustrated because the game doesn't guide you or tell you what to do. However the exploration aspect is nice and you can't die or screw up, so the worst that can happen is that you lose some time.
>>
So does anyone here have good experience with JRPGs and can tell me a bit about them? I've kind of always had an interest in getting into them but never did. Seems like every game is the 5th in its story or whatever.
>>
Grand strategy games. Europa Universalis 3/4, Victoria 2, Hearts of Iron 3.
>>
>>28054062
mad father, blank dream, mogeko castle
>>
I just play dota, dark souls, path of exile and world of warcraft

Victoria II is elder god tier, I wish I didn't lose the backup of my mod and I don't feel like changing the fucking pops and borders again.

>not watching forgotten 2000s anime
>not rewatching comfy SoL classics

Anyway, anime aside, play comfy games. JRPGs and life sim stuff like Harvest Moon are the best for me. You can emulate most of them up to PS1/N64 no problem, even on shitty computers. For other stuff, homebrew hack your Wii and gain access to every GC and Wii game in existence for free. If you don't already have a Wii for some reason, they are literally 20 dollars used.

I used to think I had grown out of video games, but then I realized modern gaming is just shit. Play old stuff anon; it's cheaper/free, and there is a massive library of amazing games you probably haven't played yet.

Play Chrono Trigger. It's the quintessential JRPG.
>>
>>28055434
And Persona 3/4
>>
Pokemon romhacks

Nuzlocke all day everyday

Go to /vp/ and you will find classic brutal difficulty hacks like Cuckold Emerald

I wish more robots played grand strategy games. I suck at them anyway, though I have a decent playthrough going in EU4 as Malacca, only need to conquer the remaining third or so of Borneo to form Malaysia, but fucking Ayutthaya got powerful and keeps attacking my northern border. I can usually chase them off with my allies help, but it's fucking annoying.
>>
>>28055855
Give me a good entry level GS.

For reference, I love the world map mode in Total War games but I tried Darkest Hour and that shit is pure fucking autism.
>>
>>28054758
A lot of JRPG series often have self contained games, sometimes there are ones with trilogies and skips to the next trilogy.

Just play what ever, you can jump into Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, Shin Megami Tensai, Persona, Breath of Fire, Phantasy Star, Ogre Battle, or SaGa where ever you want to. Then of course there are some one off games as well.

Right now I have been playing around with Sound Shapes, seeing levels people put up and messing around in the level editor. Thinking about finishing up a level soon and posting it.
>>
Elite Dangerous all day long... Dont know why, but it keeps fascinating to me.
>>
You should definitely play Dragon's Dogma, if you haven't already.
