i know a girl who's attempted suicide three times already. basically every time she's dumped by a long term boyfriend she swallows a bunch of pills, gulps a bottle of vodka and slits her wrists.
It's not necessarily that women just want attention, it's more that they're legitimately terrible at violence or knowing how to kill themselves.
