It wasn't long ago that I was in the same situation as you. My hair was shoulder length and I was scared to get it cut and have it look awful, and not to mention just socializing with the hairdresser. Anyway the hairdresser ended up being a QT, said my hair was so nice she didn't want to cut it and by the end did a fucking amazing job that made me look so much better. Go for it OP.
