No anime. Not because anime is bad, but because we have anime rec threads for robots all the time.

Generation Kill is god tier

I get a comfy feeling from the fact that the guys there are just normal guys just hanging out in a world free of all the bullshit of normal world, in a military world that is made purely functional without all the bullshit of normie social life. Its good to know they always got shit to do and are part of something, its not this grey uncertainty we all live in.

LOST

It's the most dramatic, emotional, intense, imaginative show you'll ever see.

It's good for people who enjoy literature, you actually have to watch an episode an go back and think about what you've seen and what it means and represents, all the subtexts and allusions and so on. It has many many iconic scenes, these are scenes that are iconic to the medium of not just television but visual media in general.

Like any TV show, it has a lot of crap in it, lots of annoying tropes and conventions that you wish weren't there - but the good moments make it all worthwhile. The good moments are so good they'll be burned onto the record of your mind forever.

It's also a really good show for 'young adults', it's a spiritual show about facing the past and the damage our parents (or other people in general) have done to us, learning to understand them, and to overcome our pain and move on.

>>28043468
Great characters, great action, serious feels. The show is cutting edge as far as portraying realistic wartime situations. The writers really did their research. Getting familiarized all the language and military nuances adds a lot to the show, that combined with character development make you feel like you are not just watching the show but a part of it. It's a great mix of serious and funny. Like I have teared up watching it but it has some great humor. I've only found one other person IRL that has watched it in depth. Underrated show for sure. Oh yeah, and did I mention the action is fucking sick

I mean, I'm up to trying it again. I have nothing else to watch, and most shows seem like garbage after watching The Wire and The Sopranos.
>>
>>28043545
>The writers really did their research
The actual soldiers (Brad Colbert, Ray Person) literally participated in the shooting. The whole show is based on a book the reporter wrote about his experiences.

Its more than your generic documentary/was tv show made to show modern warfare to civilians, its a show literally written by soldiers. It doesn't just show the usual stuff you hear about war. It shows how the actual soldiers felt, and on contrary to lots of other war shows, it shows that it wasn't all just crying, being desperate and sentimental thoughts.

Pretty metal how he subtly fell apart while putting on the same stoic face, started leaning too hard on the "I killed my wife for you" card for everything to where it couldn't protect him from being snuffed out by Tony, with less ceremony and regret than a good half of his impulsive killings to boot.

It was Chris' choice, he tells Tony about her dealings with the FBI as an informant and they agree that she needs to be disposed of, they set her up and Tony arranged that Silvio kill her, while he's killing her and disposing the body there is the scene where Chris is disposing of her shit and leaving her car in a parking lot.
