During my NEET/shut-in days with only /r9k/ as source to base a frame of reference about the real world on my height caused serious insecurities, but besides that and after I actually started socializing it's not nearly a disadvantage as significant as /r9k/ wanted me to believe.
I'm still taller than the average woman hereand even have a gf since recently,so other than a bit smaller dating pool and possibly a better initial disposition of other people upon first encounter (which with any proper person is just that, an initial disposition open to changing based on actions and such) than someone who is taller with everything else exactly the same as I am, but that's no different than any other parameter. Looks, deformities, skills, traits, and many more things. You'll always be able to find someone better in some way, crying over it won't magically make that less true. So one might as well live life as one can, it's a lot more enjoyable that way to boot.

What I do is I do a makeshift way of how the doctors do it, I put a ruler on the big square part of the tape measure closest to my head, tape it then measure myself by putting the tape measure against the wall, barefoot and letting it sit at the top of my head. It works, it's dumb, probably obsessive too but it works.
