I grew up with NES games since I was born in 83, I don't expect much of /r9k/ to understand the greatness of AVGN because you just weren't there (most people my age have grown up)
His channel was the first 'internet series' i ever geeked out on. I usually abused the newly fast internet to watch porn or download music, or in youtube's infancy look at old TV commercials etc
AVGN did great things, and i was never comfortable hating on him and calling him a cuck etc. because the dude is a fucking hero... even if 50 pct of what he does is cringey

Ayy nice taste, if you like them. I'd recommend LGR s well because he puts a lot of effort into his videos. Talks about old computer games, hardware, software, and general tech stories. It's all pretty good. I love AVGN but have fallen off the wagon since the movie was in production but still enjoy his cinemassacre stuff.

I kind of agree with this anon. I was born in 88 and can't remember a time in my childhood where an NES wasn't hooked up to the TV. I like AVGN still despite the cringe, it doesn't have the same novelty and charm that it did when it started but it's still enjoyable to watch James stick with it. The movie was a disaster though, James did a great job directing but they really needed someone else to help them with the script.
