I'm in my last semester of college and I have a musculation class. It's literally one of the best things that happened to me recently. Now I go to the school gym two times a week excluding class and will buy some weights when my semester's finished.

Tbh if you're looking to lose weight and get in shape do the SS, kettlebells will wreck your shit if you do them wrong, plus they're not great for losing weight.
