I'm almost done my math homework but these word questions are too hard. Everything is done but these, it's fucking impossible.
I don't necessarily want just the answer, just a hint to get me started.
Start by taking the complex conjugate. Hint: think Riemann sums.
>>28034349
The question is upside down for some god forsaken reason, hopefully this is better.
>>28034412
I don't fully understand but thanks.
>>28034459
plug the decibel values into the formula and solve dude. you should get a number greater than 1
>>28034459
We should have taken bets on how long it would take OP to get his picture right
My bet is 4.
>>28034901
What do you mean? Put the decibels where the (I)s are? There are 2 per question.
These kinds of questions drive me up the fucking wall. The other ones are just as weird.

theyre looking for a ratio between the intensity of the teacher to intensity of the kids. the word problem tells you which intensity values represent which I. I_O will cancel out when you do the math out, so don't worry about it.
>>28035243
Fuck it I still don't follow, I'll just leave it blank. Thanks for trying.
>>28035434
your answer = It/Is = 10log(It/Io)/10log(Is/Io)
anyone remember doing this on yahoo answers in 2003?
Can someone help with my math homework please?
>>28034349
Shouldn't the equation on the right be for the intensity of the teacher?
Also 100,000
>>28036406
10 dB increase is a doubling of intensity. so 5 doublings from 55 to 105 right? That's 32x the intensity.
>>28036466
We often use the approximation in the lab that 3dB is roughly a doubling on a linear scale (at least in situations where you use a 10log10 dB scale rather than 20log10).
>>28034349
Why can't these questions be written normally? why is math such a snowflake subject that any formula can be shat out and be required to use?
It pretends as if everything we solve is reverse engineering.
>>28034349
Solve for both intensities, then divide the students intensity by the teachers intensity.
>>28037754
I mean the teachers intensity by the students intensity
