>John Jones was involved in solo free exploring without any rigging.

No gear, and sliding head first down an unmapped passage. I wonder if he was confused where he was; looking at the map of the cave, there was a passage to "Chris's Crawl - crystals" right next to the unmapped passage he picked.

You'd risk the passage collapsing. It would be a very real risk, too.

I just have to wonder if they took the wrong approach; especially since he died anyway, and a once popular cave is now sealed as his tomb.

We can reattach limbs with much success. Dose him with morphine, and start sawing away until he fits through the crack. Try to reattach what you can once you get him out.

it's also hard to administer drugs and perform complicated procedures in a fucking tight cave

Horrible death thread?

Pic related (Hisashi Ouchi) had his chromosomes destroyed by radiation in a nuclear accident, then they kept him alive for almost 3 months just to research the effects of severe radiation sickness. They resuscitated him several times when his heart failed and ignored his pleas to let him die. The man was melting into a puddle of sludge and they kept him alive just to study him.

Surely common sense dictates that they should have called the authorities first THEN sat round and prayed to the magic bearded man in the sky. Can you imagine being in that position and instead of doing everything they can to pull you out all 10 of your friends and family are "offering up a series of prayers" AND they haven't even called for fucking help yet!?
>>
>>28017127
I don't feel sorry for him. He went off the beaten path in an already somewhat dangerous situation (which he knowingly put himself into), and left his wife a widow, and two children fatherless (one never even seeing his face).

He was stupid, and he died a horrible death, but all of it was his fault.

I feel bad for his family, and the people who worked so hard, and couldn't even drag his corpse out. Not him.

>A child had to crawl down near him to connect the EKG to confirm his death so they could give up.
I think I finally understand this white privilege thing.
White privilege is when you waste your fucking time crawling in holes and stupid shit like hiking instead of being constructive, and then when your dumbass gets stuck underground in a rock, they make hundreds of people and a massive crew try to rescue you, and don't break your precious precious priviledged trust fund white baby legs, and eventually almost sacrifice a child to have them see if you're still alive.

If you weren't enough of a nuisance and a privileged chad in life, you get an entire cave that used to be popular, dedicated to you just because you were a big enough of a useless waste of oxygen dipshit that you died by crawling in a hole.

Maybe he should have used his bootstraps to get himself out of there? Maybe he should have had some personal responsibility instead of expecting other people to get him out of his easily avoidable problems.

Fuck am I mad, I want go piss on his grave and kill his genetic waste of children now.
>>
>>28017189
It would be a rather quick death, only a couple of minutes long. But, man, it would be a very painful couple of minutes.

This is why you have lockout/tagout procedures.
>>
Would life insurance cover something like that? Did the wife cash out a policy?
>>
>>28017189

In this one, two repairmen were baked alive in a bread baking machine. To fix it they had to ride along inside on the conveyor belt. They didn't wait long enough for it to cool down after it baked bread because more downtime meant the Jew factory owners would lose shekels (it was supposed to cool for 12 hours but they only waited 2 hours). At the entrance it wasn't too hot so they figured it was safe, then it got hot as fuck further inside and they were stuck. The only way out was waiting until the belt spit them out the other end.

This happened in 1998, so maybe that incident led to more safety precautions to prevent it from happening again. Also, they were supposed to go in there. That was the only way to repair whatever was fucked inside. What killed them was going in before the oven cooled down enough.
>>

That way they might be able to reopen the cave, if the family stops insisting on keeping it closed.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fatal_familial_insomnia

>One of the most notable cases is that of Michael (Michel A.) Corke, a music teacher from New Lenox, Illinois (born in Watseka, Illinois). He began to have trouble sleeping before his 40th birthday in 1991; following these first signs of insomnia, his health and state of mind quickly deteriorated as his condition worsened. Eventually, sleep became completely unattainable, and he was soon admitted to University of Chicago Hospital with a misdiagnosis of clinical depression due to multiple sclerosis. Medical professionals Dr Raymond Roos and Dr Anthony Reder, at first unsure of the nature of his illness, initially diagnosed multiple sclerosis; in a bid to provide temporary relief in the later stages of the disease, physicians induced a coma with the use of sedatives, to no avail as his brain still failed to shut down completely. Corke died in 1993, a month after his 42nd birthday, by which time he had been completely sleep-deprived for six months.[13]
