Have you ever tried nofap? How'd it go?

I'm considering giving it a shot because of how fucked up my wanking sessions have become. Thanks to /pol/ and /r9k/ I've been memed into watching disgusting interracial porn, and I need to wash my fucking brain for a little or I might become an actual cuck. For some reason that's all I can get off to these days, just like a little while ago all I could get off to was incest.

Jesus. Just typing this out is fucking shameful.

Anyway, any input appreciated.

it's helpful even if only for short periods of time.

I did it for 13 days recently and I could orgasm without touching my dick after that

but really the only real way out of this shit is NoInternet

Yeah, it is a real thing. It's not a cure all for everybody, but for perhaps 5% of the population, it can quite have a drastic effect on your personality.

For me, I had two concurrent addictions: video games and pornography.

I gained a lot of the so called "super powers" - reduced anxiety, reduced depression, increased confidence, and I actually gained muscle mass (i figure from a reduction in cortisol from reduced anxiety).

Peace. Haters who've never been through it will never understand.
>>
It went well, for quite awhile. I went two weeks without fapping, and then did it four times in one day. I guess it's all or nothing for me.
>>
>>28009833
Yeah, that's kinda what I was thinking, too. Maybe fapping isn't the problem, the internet is.

But I can't just go without internet, considering I'm in college.
>>
>>28009843
So you haven't jacked off since?
>>
>>28009843
I don't see myself ever being able to fully quit vidya or even harder, 4chan.

but porn is something I can work on, and I just got a full-time job so I'll be busy for most of the day in a month
>>
>>28009984
also I'm a diagnosed autistic, I've been socially retarded since before I ever used the internet, porn or games. In fact I'd say that even now when I'm a 4chan addict more than anything, I actually have slightly better social skills than as a kid because of internships and job interviews.

I imagine being a NEET would be living hell though.

How long did it take for u to improve?
I couldnt get it up for my gf last week and i wanna try agsin. Been nofap since friday. What do?
>>
>>28009789
>interracial porn
If this is bad then i might have a very serious problem. I only get off to rape hentais, animal porn and a lot of another degenrate stuff...
I fap 1-3 times a day. Since i try to control it i have noticed that the urge is real and i have to change it.

No, I still struggle with it but quite often I can get a few months together and I feel like my life moves forward at those moments.

>>28009984
Video games was the big one for me. It gave me a "dull" anxiety, and a "flat" depression. Porn binges would give me short term extreme "sharp" anxiety and suicidal feelings for a couple days. Depending on the length of binge and amount of times I'd done it.

Quitting games allowed my dopamine to recover to a level for me to find more boring things stimulating, such as a movie being able to hold my attention. And that made quitting porn easier

>>28010127
you will see results in less than a month
>>
Tried it, made it two weeks or so at the longest.

Didn't help me with women at all.

Great for getting me to clean my room and sleep less, though.

Oh, it probably will clean up your porn tastes a bit, if that's what you want. The less I fap the more vanilla the shit I fap to.
>>
>>28010266
4chan is worse for dopamine than games i'd say, it never ends and you can't stop coming back.

I don't find that to be the case with games, but then again I don't play MMO's or online games
>>
>>28010374
Depends on the individual. There's definitely studies out there that say that the internet in general spikes your dopamine. But for me personally, the problem has always been video games, from a young age, and the problem spiraled out of control with online gaming.

I've noticed improvements in line with this, and it's not good practice to eliminate all addictions at once, anyway. 4chan will be last eliminated for me, it might be the first one for you.
>>
>>28010501
yeah, I always hated MMOs, FPS and other popular online games, always have for most of my life. I gamed as a kid but also put a lot of effort into studying hard in school. And at this point my most addictive gaming behavior is becuase of the socialization, I stream games with a group of long-term friends on my livestream, and this actually keeps my mind off of porn.

But I'd say the one thing that has impacted my study habits far more than any of these things is 4chan as well as conspiracy forums. It's the "fear porn" that disrupts my concentration the most.

I'd say give NoFap a go for the 90 days, and if you're not seeing the improvements you want, try limiting your internet usage to two hours a day or something.

In the past I've been on nofap for over 3 months and nothing changed. I still feel like shit and spend most of my time sleeping. It feels good not to jerk off to weird shit all the time though. I wish I could just get rid of all my sexual desires.

There was no increased motivation and energy or any of that "superpower" bullshit.
I tried going without video games as well, but that didn't do anything either. I wasn't even playing that much to begin with.

Go ahead an try it. Maybe you will see some results. I didn't. Maybe it's because I'm a diagnosed sperglord. No idea.

I should probably get off the internet, but I'm not sure if I can do that. In the end all of these things are just ways to cope with isolation and feelings of despair. I'm not trying to justify my behaviour, but people without hope tend to be self-destructive. Addiction is a symptom, not a cause. It ultimately makes the original situation worse, but beating the addiction is not going to fix everything.

Hopefully my post made sense.

>>28010852
that sounds like me. I want to find an autistic girl to wife honestly, though this could be a nightmare when it comes down to raising kids. Nofap will fix social anxiety but it won't magically fix actual autism (and not everyone here has actual autism - it's a lot more than just being shy).

I'd say the biggest improvements in social skills I got were through dealing with job interviews. I still have trouble with real intimate conversation but at least I've gotten pretty good at public/professional stuff.
>>
>>28010852
Try going without internet for 10 days. See how you feel.

Personally I believe that addictions can alter brain chemistry and cause mental illness. The under-diagnosed ones in our society being the internet related ones: excessive browsing, video games, pornography. Social media for girls.
>>
>>28010907
and also, the best thing you can ever do as a sperg is TURN DOWN all special accommodations/programs that school or work offers you for learning disabilities.

When I declined accepting my extra time on exams, and refused to apply for any special career programs for autists, it felt extremely liberating and boosted my confidence.

But what drives people to consume excessively? The cause usually lies somewhere else. The drug/medium/stimulant is always used as an escape from the unpleasant. After continued use, you become dependent on it. That's of course a problem in itself.

Say what you will about the channel, but they make some good points in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ao8L-0nSYzg
