The secret to happiness in relationships is never date western women. Ever. It's never a good idea. It doesn't matter what counter-culture she identifies with, if she's western she's had a lifetime of absorbing terrible ideas about herself and her relationships. Date women who grew up further east than Italy at least. Greek women can be okay. Turkish women are ace. Russian women can be good. Most Asians are good except for degenerate Japan. Arab Christians are good too. With Muslims your mileage may vary. Just drop all western women entirely, consider them a non-starter, strictly friends only. You will know happiness again.
