My little brother is pretty much the stereotypical depressed neet. He spends most of his time on his computer watching anime or playing games, and hasn't had a job since he left sixth form 2 years ago.
He's not a lazy mong or anything; he does the washing up, mows the grass, sometimes cooks etc, but I know that he's absolutely miserable.
I've never been depressed so I struggle to empathise, but I'd just like to help him in any way possible. My parents are getting a bit fed up with the whole situation, so I feel like it's my responsibility to try and fix things.

I'm a bit lost here lads.
I applied to be a special constable (I've always wanted to join the Police but the locals weren't hiring).
I got through to the assessment day after working my ass off to prepare. I sat the written exam and thought I did pretty well. I was then left in a room for 3 hours and then told I had failed. The kicker that got me was that EVERY foreigner passed and got through to the other stages of the test. The only other people who failed were English. Naturally the person who led us out gave some half-assed 'you'll do better next time just believe in yourself' nonsense but I don't think there will be a next time for me.
I'm feeling so down right now and honestly just want to cry. This process has shattered my perception on joining the Police and I have nothing to fill the hole.

Im lost in life at the moment lads. I finished college a few years back with sub par grades and got into a crapply uni to study film. Throughout the year I made two friends that were my house mates, but apart from that barely spoke to anyone in my course. I didn't enjoy the course and didn't have much of a uni life and opted to just get stoned everyday.
I am now back home after finishing my first year but getting a few grades back, I have realised that I might have failed. I have a job at ASDA at the moment and have 4 close friends that all didn't go to uni, my home town is pretty much dead and apart from college students there are no girls our age here. University was my only way of meeting new people and progressing in life and without it looks like I'm going to be a weird loser in my home town. Fuck everything!

I'm studying Japanese as a minor, and my mum constantly tells me that I'd have a better chance of being a teacher (I don't want to be a teacher) if I didn't speak the language, because it forces the kids to immerse themselves in English in order to understand the course.
It confuses me so much. My Japanese teacher often teaches us by introducing the Japanese phrases and having us figure out the response through context, but she's still able to answer any questions in English. Can't even imagine how awkward the class would be if she couldn't.
