James turrell's the Ganzfeld! I was lucky enough to go see it at the LA county museum of art and actually walk inside it. Here's the entrance to it
this one at the moment
>>27961055
and here's the inside! it slowly changes colors and the room is very smooth and overtime you become unable to see any edges. it's really amazing and quite beautiful

this piece of art i saved a while ago in my folder. i don't remember what it's called but it feels calming to look at for some reason.
This my brothers, this
>>27961439
It's Hieronymus Bosch. Studied him in philosophy
>>27961439
Is this one of those medieval paintings of hell which are ridiculously entertaining to look at?
art is gay
>>27960901
I DON'T WANNA LIVE LIKE THIS
ANYMOOOOOOOORE
>>27960901
Listen to Deathconsciousness by Have A Nice Life, the cover is a cropped picture of that painting, and it's some very high quality gloomy shoegaze.
>>27960901
If JL David is seriously your favourite painter you need to get checked in the head.
Art History double major (other major is pharmacology) reporting in.
>>27961532
No, you must be retarded to think that a painting with this level of intricacy and perspective is medieval.
>>27961715
Great, you promote both degenerate art and drug use.
>>27961532
those are good. bosch has a "triumph of death" but this is a cool earlier version by pieter brugel the elder
absolute masterpiece
>>27961754
You're an idiot. Brueghel painted over 50 years after Bosch died.
>>27960901
i saw this last month live in brussels museum. you jelly?
>>27961739
Joke's on you, I am.
I meant renaissance not medieval. Still wrong though?
>>27961792

the one that i posted is actually someone different but it is earlier (1500s)
https://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trionfo_della_Morte_(Palermo)
>>27961786
Here's a higher res if you want to appreciate the full glory of this complexity
I don't know I've just always liked this one.
>>27961826
No, you're right if you think it's the Renaissance. It isn't Italian, though.
People like to characterize Bosch as some wacky proto-surrealist, when in actuality he was an extremely conservative Christian from a small village in the middle of nowhere. He only gained notoriety because Spanish royalty loved his shit.
His paintings of hell are those where anyone who isn't a ridiculously pious Christian is tortured eternally with a punishment suited to their sin. So gluttons are forced to eat a bunch, vain people are forced to look at themselves, etc.
>>27961839
That's definitely not a 16th century painting. It's probably from the 15th century.
>>27960901
same painter as yours m8
>>27961929
Wew, lad had an interesting ideas.
I guess if you're a creative spirit and are taught to think a certain way by a doctrine in which you believe, then you would want to express yourself in a way that abides by that.

why do you keep posting this picture
is it your penis?
This. I believe I saw it in el Prado. Much nicer looking in person. Colors, man. Colors.
metal as fvck
Saw it when I visited the Uffizi.
I had it printed to a 2'x3' canvas and hung it on my wall but the resolution of the image is such that it looks like shit from closer than 5 feet, and this is the largest res I could find.
I would consider commissioning a high res photo of it if that wouldn't cost thousands of dollars, but I'm sure it would.
>>27961754
Pieter Bruegel also painted this interesting piece.
'Whatever I do, I do not repent. I keep pissing against the moon.'
>>27962751
>O sultan, Turkish devil and damned devil's kith and kin, secretary to Lucifer himself. What the devil kind of knight are you, that can't slay a hedgehog with your naked arse? The devil excretes, and your army eats. You will not, you son of a bitch, make subjects of Christian sons; we've no fear of your army, by land and by sea we will battle with thee, fuck your mother.
>You Babylonian scullion, Macedonian wheelwright, brewer of Jerusalem, goat-fucker of Alexandria, swineherd of Greater and Lesser Egypt, pig of Armenia, Podolian thief, catamite of Tartary, hangman of Kamyanets, and fool of all the world and underworld, an idiot before God, grandson of the Serpent, and the crick in our dick. Pig's snout, mare's arse, slaughterhouse cur, unchristened brow, screw your own mother!
>So the Zaporozhians declare, you lowlife. You won't even be herding pigs for the Christians. Now we'll conclude, for we don't know the date and don't own a calendar; the moon's in the sky, the year with the Lord, the day's the same over here as it is over there; for this kiss our arse!
>- koshovyi otaman Ivan Sirko, with the whole Zaporozhian Host.

Paul Gauguin - Self Portrait With Halo and Snake... he went to an inn with his art buddies and painted the whole place up. the self portrait was done on a cupboard in the dining room.

Charlie Harper
Arial view of pink flamingos and water bugs.

>>27965579
Gustave Courbet

One of my favourites. It literally glows.
Inspires me.
How cliche am I?
>>27965507
I love the dappled sunshine in this, though the crowd makes me uncomfortable. I am fascinated and horrified by their confining clothing.
>>27965693
I would love to see it in person.
>>27965547
>>27965604
I love Edward Gorey so much. my mom used to read his books to me when I was a kid
>>27965722
When I was a kid, I thought that if I looked at this picture I would go insane. Even now, I kinda glance over it. He nailed crazy!
>>27961077
Reminds me of your mind... empty and especially void of substance.. delusional sense of self importance.
>>27965628
The same pornographer who painted the Origin of The World? Eh. Thank you anyways.
>>27965795
I have small collection of his little books.
My favourite is the pornographic couch.
Every once in a while, you can pick them up newly published.
>>27965337
the kiss
One of my favourite E. GOREY lines.
I can smell the fishy air and the hear the 'gals in the background... wood creaking as ships gently sway back and forth... I reach in my pocket for my morphine cough syrup... I think this cold may last a few more decades.
>>27965952
>...I reach in my pocket for my morphine cough syrup... I think this cold may last a few more decades.
Best line I've read in a long time!
This was a fun survey of the arts. Thanks for the random panopally of amazing talent.
>>27965996
Thanks, got any opiates?
This gets put around /pol/ as their favorite picture.. or at least it gets brought up a lot.
I think it would make such a great painting, there are so many things happening at once, it reminds me a lot of a Norman Rockwell.
>>27966149
This is gorgeous!
Absolutely amazing.
I wonder why the sinister shadow though.
It's already nightmarish.
>>27966194
I think that's a brilliant idea!
>>27965228
Is that guy being cucked?
>>27965365
What are those niggers doing to that poor lil white girl?
>>27966201
The shadow looks like someone on a horse.. perhaps as he rides away, the children come out and play.
Either way, it reminds me of these old Amish primitives... Ironically wholesome.
Who /louiswain/ here? Love his art because the worse his schizophrenia got, the more abstract he would make his art.
>>27967022
Fuck. How did I forget the image in a post like this?
I don't want this thread to die, bump
>>27961491
I know nothing of art but I recognize a bosch from miles away
