Even though I no longer live with her and have subsequently stopped playing vidya regularly, my mother still tells me that I'm wasting my life playing video games (when in reality, I might play 2-5 hours of vidya per week).

When I was younger (13-19) I was really into gaming and was constantly on that shit.

But now (25), I really only play games when I have at least two or three friends joining me for a session on an old ass game (HL1 status).

My parents have never seen my time on the computer, whether gaming or shitposting, to be productive.

Even when I was actively contributing to various HL1 mods back in the early '00s.
