How is any of us different than a random african guy? I mean, we live, we (sometimes) reproduce, and we die. Our hobbies don't mean shit, our taste in music/movies/whatever doesn't mean shit.
The way I see it, there's nothing special about "western civilization" either. I mean sure, we have beautiful architecture and stuff, but when each of us individuals die, what does it matter? What does Kremlin or Statue of Liberty mean to me? It's just a random fact I know and I might see at some point in my life and feel mildly impressed.
Fuck, if our civilization was so great, why the fuck did we cause the society to be the way it is today? With all the radical feminists, genocidal maniacs, sad, bitter people on 4chan and whatnot?
I sometimes feel that even though they don't live comfortable lives, and not even all their basic needs are sometimes met, some random guy living in a tribe might be happier than most people around me.
Watch a documentary about any tribe, be it from amazon, india, africa, whatever. You'll see people smiling, going about their daily business. Then walk down the street wherever you live, and I bet like 7/10 people will have a fucking frown.
