Is ambient the most robot genre of music?
>>
>>27933050
Probably. All mainstream music is either a guitar and a depressed guy or upbeat in-your-face party music. Whenever I've tried showing my friends music like this like Brian Eno and whatnot, they give me weird looks so yea, probably.
>>
What do you robots think of classical?
>>
>>27933417
Intredasting observation, ambient really gets me into dat comfy zone and normies really don't understand the concept of comfy like robots do.
>>
>>27933489
i love classical but i love traditional asian music more
>>
>>27933537
I havent heard much "traditional" asian music apart from some genric stereotype stuff. Mind linking me some of your favorites?
>>
>>27933417
Yeah, I agree. Either ambient or something along the lines of noise and the various noise subgenres (noise pop, noise rock, etc) are perfect normie deterrents.
>>
>>27933050
Drone is also robot music.
>>
This is my favorite album. I liked Brian Eno too and Xtal is an incredible song.
>>
>>27933568
i used to have a big list but dont have it anymore, but stuff like this, most of the stuff in my list was hour or 2 long of all kinds of different melodies
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qmbxge3rxgs
ill try to find some better examples, this ones kinda tired and ive heard it too many times,
>>
>>27933713
Ageispolis and Ptolemy are my favorite tracks.

Death Grips is pure robot music
>>
Ambient music is certainly the most robot music, because it can only amplify what you're currently feeling and thinking about since there's no shitty as fuck lyrics pushing you down a certain path.

Aphex Twin is great and that's his best fucking album right there.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LGC90fmf8gw

But William Basinski is the master.

>>
>>27933568
here this ones decent
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m914XI5RmKw
slow and soft
>>
>>27933050
Ambient is by far the most robot genre with dark ambient being the most pure robot like.

Here's some of my favorite non-dark stuff. The first 2 tracks make me feel like life isn't so shit.

>>
>>27933787
Death Grips, thanks to /mu/ meme status, is popular with suburban teenage white boys. It doesn't get more normie than suburban teenage white boys.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jYjwFNUoD-Y

I enjoyed these very much. More of a fan of chillout/downtempo tho.
>>27933750
This is great, anon! Thank you, saved the link
>>
>>27933050
That's not ambient, retard.

>>27933568
Miyagi

>>27933787
>>27933877
death grips is also shit

This album by Brian Eno has a bunch of tracks in Drive. I was surprised when I first noticed

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M4ltUho8xj0
>>
i made a three hour playlist of ambient just recently, so ya
>>
>>27933730
I really dislike how the player runs his hands over them all the time. I properly dislike that.
It's okay after 1:06 though. I'm especially fond of the vibrato and pitchbending in this piece.

>>27933851
That pitchbending at the start is sexy. Something you don't hear a lot in western music.
I wished the melodies were a bit more harmonically pleasent though. Maybe something for me to expiriment with perhaps.

>>27933967
Mind linking something? When I search for Miyagi I get some russian artist.
>>
>>27933050
I think so, some of my favorite releases this year are meme-ambient records such as Roly Porter, Brood Ma, Matmos, The Good Willsmith and Secret Boyfriend. I know all of the. Aren't exactly ambient but you get the idea.
>>
>>27934353
that's some good stuff. really liked this song https://soundcloud.com/blackest-ever-black/secret-boyfriend-little-jammy-centre
>>
is boards of canada ambient?

besides them here are some of my favorites https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fPsF9aGLRYQ
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NynkFRDlWtY
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SgxDGK7RPnE
>>
>>27934139
ya sorry, i agree with you
but like i said i lost my beautiful list, i had some really soft relaxing stuff in there, the second link is more like the stuff i had thou
also had many other instrumentals like wind instruments and such
>>
>>27934455
That's a great track I think everything they've put out is great, Blackest Ever Black is one of the best labels right now.
>>27934482
BoC I would consider ambient, probably more of a downtempo artist since they have a groove to them but still good.
>>
I listened to Afex's first three albums and they are all meh. (I love older ambient, such as Eno and Schulze.) Should I even bother with the other albums?
>>
>>27933050
Synthwave is also up there

Nah. It bored me.
>>
I wish Richard would make more melancholic piano music.
>>
>>27934010
This crops up in a lot of movies actually
>>
My favourite ambient track. It gives me feels everytime:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NV_8-CvXuPE
>>
>>27933854
Great album. The film looks shit though.
>>
Noise rock is more robot. There's nothing more unappealing to a normal person than noise.
>>
>>27933793
Basinski is a hack who used 9/11 to popularize his music.
>>
>>27936002
Maybe. It's good music though.

I would say black metal solo projects as well as most black metal, are more robot. Many of these guys are true robots. They hate everything, including themselves, and live lives of seclusion only to record their music.
>>
>>27936061

Hey Black Metal bro.

Have some Armagedda

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p8t1i9_V3ho
>>
Don't really care for ambient.

I've found myself listening to jazz more (including fusion and regional jazz styles)
>>
>>27936061
I've never given metal much of a chance, especially when I was young and found it to be too harsh. However, I'm really turned off by the stereotypical metal appearance. It's as though they're all wearing a costume, or worse, a uniform. I can't take them seriously.
>>
>>27936061

Definitely black metal. Some autistic mother fuckers here. Especially like Xasthur and Leviathan.
>>
Classical music, lolicore, neofolk and black metal are very robot friendly.
>>
>>27936061
black metal and ambient are my two favorite genres

have some botanist
https://youtu.be/xokiF0imfNg
>>
>>27933787
In a "niche" way. I don't think I can remember a song from DG about bwaaaa no gf. Suicide, mental things, and criticism of society however are themes they explore often.

Their fanbase, at least online is best ignored.

I'll have to listen to those fully soon.

my favourite right now would probably be this:

listen to this stuff if you like ambient
>>
>>27936136
The appearance is secondary - you don't have to change how you dress to like metal. And the prevalence of makeup is fading out anyway. Just listen to the music and see if you can find something you like.
Here are some suggestions of various styles of black metal:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mqK6s93wqRU (with psychedelic rock influences)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LQUJfgGDIQI (gloomy with violins and shit)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0tqgA4E67Oc (more of a modern production and "poppier" also with a saxophone)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kzpc73lExBs (somewhere between thrash and black metal)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SMJLq7xSV3c (super abrasive and dirty)
>>
Any black metal guys want to start an online project?

Ambient is literally a soothing medicine if you feel awful,

Some songs just lift up the huge weight on my chest and makes me feel like I'm dead.
And nothing in the world matters.
