Democracy works because people show up to vote. Voting is your way of saying "I am going to participate in this democratic system because I approve of it." Obviously there's more to it than not voting, which is why reducing Moldbug's points down to his passivism is retarded and obnoxious.
Again, let's go back to the eating at McDonald's analogy. It's not just that you have to stop eating there, you also have to make it known that eating at McDonalds is bad for you and that other people probably shouldn't eat at McDonalds either. Then, you also need to find a replacement for McDonalds because people still need to eat.
So it's not just that people need to stop voting, but the idea of alternatives to democracy need to gain more traction. And it can't be alternatives that society as a whole is conditioned to reject, like fascism. The end goal is for people to go "Why would I vote? Democracy is bad for me and the people I care about. I'd prefer..." and that's when you get your foot in the door with the best possible alternative to democracy.
