It certainly makes it easier. I'm suspicious of the coding claim, that is hard work and no one save prodigies like Carmack are really any good at that age.

How can she claim to be a coder then? She runs classes according to her instagram, shes always posting photos of grills and code.

I can't understand a word of it but people are willing to pay for it and she gets loads of endorsements, shes doing a talk at microsoft in a few months as well

Iktf. Trying to learn programming myself but my brain can't comprehend it at all. Shits complicated af.

Try to read through peoples example code and follow how the logic works
The part you said was hard is just the syntax, and its not too complicated to get the hang of
Granted, my advice is probably shit seeing as I started coding when I was 12

Left looks functional while right looks cluttered. But you could argue it's good to have proper notes to tell people what's what.

I like how you didnt even read the article
The subtitle literally says
>but only if their gender is not identifiable
>>
>>27871910

Running classes doesn't mean shit. Any idiot can learn the basics in a few weeks, and then any idiot can teach out of a textbook. The good coders are people who have been doing it from childhood, who couldn't fuck girls or sing or do jack fucking shit other than this one fucking thing. There's this push in tech to get women more involved, because the powers that be find it awkward that men excel in this area where women don't. So they prop up figureheads like this to the detriment of what few women ARE actually pulling their weight in the industry. Just follow the stories and comments on hackernews if you want to get the vibe on this.

Its true women like to comment re. functionality, whereas guys prefer to get shit done and in the zone you are hyper-aware of your own code and it's capabilities, rendering comments a waste of time. It bites you in the ass a few months later, but reviewing the code with a little intuition allows you to grasp what's going on.

Let me tell you, I don't mean to belittle them all (some are cool) but most get lost in code unless it's well documented and are blatantly told what methods do what. The guys are on hand to crowd around their workstation to explain what does what.

I used to help the ladies when I first started but eventually I realised what a cuck I was and stopped - as you can expect none of the girls like me anymore but whatever, fuck em.
>>
>>27872713
I remember that article when it got posted, after some digging people found out women coders tend to go after the easier to fix problems and that's why their suggestions go through more often
IE people make a bunch of little mistakes as they tend to do as well as big fuck ups, women tend to the busy work of easy to solve stuff while men fix the big issues

>>27871910
She doesn't teach people how to code. In her own promotional videos for the classes she says that she has recently started teaching herself. She's a beginner.
When she says she runs it is true that she's organised a schorlstship scheme or something for teenage girls to 'learn to code' but that's being a promoter rather than being a teacher.

But men are the best. Git hub edits is a terrible metric for programming talent.

It could easily be that women just submit trivial changes like extra comments or readability changes while male users only submit a change that is significant.

A much better metric would be who does better at compsci classes at university and it's well observed that women drop like flies from lower level to upper level compsci classes.

I'm not a programmer and don't know how Github works, but is this a case where women are looking at random people's code and making suggestions for edits?
