I knew a dude who smoked weed everyday and he said after a month or two it just became a haze, he didn't feel high or sober, somewhere in between. He said when he stopped smoking getting properly sober again was an interesting feeling.
As for your ma, either just push through it or speak to her and say you need to ween yourself off it, then slowly cut down your consumption if she lets you. I know weed isn't physically addictive but if you smoke it daily I guess you could be psychologically dependent on it. Also, bong or joint? I cant handle bongs personally, they get me way too fucked, but joints are great. I love just walking around the empty streets at night with my best mate/smoking buddy. Yeah in California, since I have a medical card. I have one of those portable vaporizer pens and the solid crumble is harder to wipe on the coils than more gooey substances.
IMO concentrates are a better deal but they give a different kind of high than smoking leaf. It's more subtle, which I think is better for working and getting stuff done but not as fun.

Depends on the strain, what space you have, how much research you put in and ultimately how fire you want the final product to be.
I check every single one of our 80~ plants everyday for hermie trates and to hand trim off undergrowth, i also mix my own nutes and water by hand all the plants.
One plant is perfect to start out with because its just one, you can top it and learn with it.
Some strains are a pain, because they like to turn from females into hermies, and they pollinate themselves, Some strains like lots of nutes, some dont.
As long as you keep it simple you wont really fuck up, Critical Kush is a great starting strain, it can be pretty easy but you at least need to take a hour or so each day to, check the plant, trim, water (if needed) and check the lights and such.
You can grow a few super flame plants with a sub 200 buck setup if you have the space.

Depends on the dispensary, California has this thing where as a medical cannabis patent you can get a "growers rec" This allows you to vend to dispensaries, Some dispensaries are a rip off, some are the cheapest way to get fire.
Most dispensaries though carry great quality bud, its just price is the thing that really sets them apart.
