Where do you robots live? Where do you wish you live?

Which is the worst to live in, as a robot?

Suburbs are actually the worst place to live, worst of both worlds 2bh
>>
>>27845457
I live in the suburbs. It's not so bad. Good area, I'm close to everything.

I'd like to eventually leave these flatlands and live in a little house tucked away in the mountains. Maybe in a place like NC or CO.
>>
>>27845457
If you don't mind long commutes, rural is literally god-tier.

Urban is the absolute worst. You have to live in a disgusting city with shitloads of pollution. You get to deal with awful people and plenty of minorities. Not to mention if you live in a city you're gonna pay top dollar for a shitty apartment.
>>
>>27845457
Used to live in a rural town in the middle of nowhere, I guess that a lot of people will argue that is "comfy" and "safer" (not sayint that it isn't true), but to be honest, is boring once you're a teen/young adult, but I guess I will learn to appreciate it again after I'm older.
I'm still glad that I moved out to the city though.
>>
>>27845457
Both suck to a degree, but city. I can exercise more and I can just use my neighbor's wifi anytime I want.
>>
I live in the suburbs, have lived most of my life in suburbs. The few years that I lived in the city were great, but I save a lot of money living out here.
>>
Live in the city
Fine with ether the city or country depending on the location

Worst is suburbs.
>>
suburban currently, rural formerly
if I had the money and time for it, I'd have a place in each, so I could enjoy the access to transit and other city things, but also have a place with less people, better air, space to grow things, etc
>>
Used to live rural, was good
Now live small town but get fibre so I guess it's okay
Would rather just move back to rural and get fibre anyway

Suburbs and rural are based

You can fuck off OP, suburbs don't have the niggers, crime, pollution, and noise of cities.
>>
I live urban, in with about 500k habitants and I wan to leave. Don't really want to go rural, but wouldn't mind moving somewhere smaller like the place where my grandfather comes from, it has like 10k habitants, wish I had enough money to build my own house and just work in town.
>>
>>27846697
Suburbs have tough little 16 year old white boys who scratch out bus windows and draw their tags everywhere and throw beer bottles down the street while screaming and hollering as they come home from a night of underage drinking at 3am.

You also have the "everyone knows you and you see them all the time at the one usual place to hang out" bullshit of rural areas, while not having the liberty to just get drunk in a field or forest by yourself and set off fireworks like you would in a rural area because you'll get stopped by Public Security that patrol all the parks, or the ability to get lost in a crowd of strangers like you would in a city.
>>
>>27846695
That's the one reason I wouldn't want to live in a rural area; the internet is shit. I have a friend who lives in a rural area, and he comes to my suburban house to torrent because his internet is shit.
>>
>>27845457
suburbs close to toronto
i wish i lived in a more rural area, but i'm sure if i did, i would just complain about living in 'butt fuck nowhere'
>>
>>27846817
Suburbs in the south maybe, I'm from a rich suburb in Oregon. Stop living in shit areas.

Besides, cities are worse than what you described

>>
>>27845457
I live in a suburban area by the sea. Walking distance of everything I need including forests and beaches
>>
>>27846817
But if you are one of those boys, life is good in the suburbs. Also setting off fireworks is totally normal in the suburbs I have lived in.
>>
I live in the exurbs. Essentially a suburban development surrounded by forest and agriculture.

I want to live in a city. There's nothing to do here.
>>
Urban for me.
I grew up in one of the worlds biggest cities and lived there for about 23 years. So I'm more used to that environment. The last year I spent it in a small city and, while it was fun and all, you lose that anonimity you get in a big city by default. And right now I'm in a shitty town and I don't go out at all because there's nowhere to and the sun is a bitch. In big cities the sun is not so harsh, probably because tall buildings cast shadows or something.
There is also people in cities. And places to practice freerunning and such, and hackerspaces, go clubs, etc. Lots of people, I like watching people.

>>
I'm from a small town and it fucking sucks
I've been a shutin NEET for 10 years, yesterday I go to the supermarket and the cashier calls me by my name. I don't even know who this guy is and he knows me, how? It makes me sad to think many people probably know how much of a loser I am and I have no idea

I wish I could just be some anonymous face in the crowd in a big city
>>
I live in hardcore rural Ontario, on a farm. I fucking hate it. There's so much work to do just to keep the place up, and it takes forever to get anywhere. I want to live in an apartment that doesn't even have windows.
>>
Suburb master race.

Everything you need in walking distance.
No niggers.
>>
>>27847641
I wish I could like the fullness of the urban life, but I don't think I ever will. First I grew up in the suburbs, and never really explored anything besides the nearby forests and Parks. Also I never really have the ability to delve into the complexity of the urban funstuffs (anhedonia, no motivation/determination, sitting inside all day), so I like the simple vast landscapes of the suburbs/rural areas. I know that urban is the objectively better choice, but I guess I never grew into it, and I probably never will. Maybe if there were connections to the rural landscape for adventures, or a possible mix of the two (like nature blocks or something) I would like it better, but I dunno. I just like the traveling aspect of large swaths of space and the urban life to me seems a bit too... Condensed I would think.
>>
>>27845457
I was born in a shitty small town and came to the city for uni. I still want to kill myself nonetheless.

If I had to choose it'd be a mid sized town somewhere in New England, but maybe that's just because of my love for Stephen King and H.P. Lovecraft.
>>
Suburbia is objectively the worst and breeds the worst kind of people.

Just out of the inner city ex-working class places are the best if you're young and can get in before they gentrify.

Rural is great if the commute is tolerable is the best as an adult, especially if you can build on some land.

>Where do you robots live?
A midwestern residential middle-class neighborhood. It's quiet and peaceful here, and the houses vary in architecture so it doesn't feel like the human hives that are western suburbia.

>Where do you wish you live?
I like the Pacific Northwest because it seems to be pretty mild climate plus rainy and full of forestation, so it sounds like supreme comfiness. I also like the idea of moving to a place like Maine or Vermont on account of the landscape and high percentage of the population being white people.

I live in a successful town. Good infrastructure (fiber), community doesn't have a budget deficit, low unemployment, the landscape is amazing, very few undesirables (immigrants, gypsies) I'm not sure there are much better places out there, it's a good balance of country and urban living. Closest city is 30 minutes on the freeway.
The cons are that the nightlife is kind of dead. If you want to have a good night out, you have to take the bus to the city. But I'd never trade the stability and safety over more shitty bars.

I live in a moderately sized urban area.

It fucking sucks. Yeah, there's more stuff to do and more accessibility to various things, but that's about it.

There are just too many people and consequently too many shitty people that will ruin your day.

Specifically, where I live is one of the most crime ridden and poorest cities in my state. The people here are just nasty unless you live on the outskirts or a nice suburb on the south side (everything north of the highway is a fucking ghetto until you get near one of the private, Christian universities).

Not to mention, but I live in the poorest neighborhood in the city AND state. The only good thing about living in a rundown, crime ridden, decaying city is that rent is cheap.

I'd much rather live where I grew up, a nice little town nestled right in the mountains next to a spectacular lake with a population of about 3,000 as opposed to about 300,000 where I live right now.

Urban for the ultimate convenience. As much as you'd like to live isolated and far away innawoods, the reality is that you will spend long hours away from your comfy home trying to replenish your resources than you would in a city.

I grew up in a small town in Oregon with about 3,500 people. Then a few years after high school, I moved to Eugene. Didn't care for it because people seemed more fake and uptight compared to my hometown. Now I live in a town with around 60,000 people which is a bit better, but I'd really like to go back to my hometown. Problem is that since I left 10 years ago, it's become a meth infested shithole. I just can't win.

I was in Ottawa a few years ago during the summer. I overhead a random conversation

"What are you doing over the summer ?"

"Working part-time as a student for the feds"

"Whoa! Living the dream man"

I think that I throw up a bit in my mouth right there. That one conversation says it all - a city filled with unambitious boring people chasing cushy yet somehow soul crushing government jobs. Other than the downtown and the rideau canal (which is pretty poorly maintained) the rest of the city is a glorified suburb that could be anywhere.

I live in an extremely rural area. Way out in the boonies. The closest town has less than 600 people.

It fucking sucks here. Internet is overly expensive and shitty.

Want to get a new video game? 1.5 hour drive. Your not downloading shit with this internet.

Want to get a new pair of shoes? One hour drive.

Want to buy literally anything besides basic essentials? 40-50 minutes drive.

Want to get a job? Prepare for a very long commute.

Car break down? Better get it fixed fast, because you have to drive miles to do anything, and there is no public transportation.

Bad weather? Your shitty dirt road fucking disintegrates and becomes an impassible mud pit, or just washed away completely.

Snowing? No one is going to help you when you are snowed in.

Don't bother trying to use your cell phone, there is no cell service.

Someone break into your house, because you live in an economically depressed area with tons of drugs? 2 hour police response time, you better be packing heat.

House on fire? Not for long. Your house and everything you own will be ash by the time firemen get there.

Medical emergency? Prepare to wait for at least an hour before getting any help.

Your injury too severe for the local clinic to treat? Enjoy your helicopter ride, you are getting airlifted out of the village to the nearest actual hospital, all on your dime. Don't worry, your insurance won't cover the quarter-million dollars in helicopter fuel.

I could go on for hours.

25mb/s internet, better than most of the coast.
5 minute walk to work, well paying, requires a degree
Car mechanic close enough you could push your car there
Very good sealed roads leading out of town all the way to the coast
Good reception unless you go hunting far away
Few abos to little crime despite ice epidemic
Cops, fire service and ambos minutes away

Foothill rural. In my opinion flatland is utterly bland and unremarkable, whether it's smalltown or city or suburbs. Hills and mountains, whether they're forested or just open terrain, make it interesting in my opinion.

It's the current year, and burgerland is too developed for most flatland areas to have any respectable open land that's neither populated nor farmland. I used to live in Texas, and that's what really cemented this view in my head. Driving all throughout Texas, unless you go ridiculously far out of your way, it's either a city/suburb or it's a farmer's field. There's hardly any truly open or undeveloped land there, although I didn't visit the far eastern parts of the state or the southwestern areas so they could be different.

Even as ridiculously overdeveloped as Commiefornia is, once you get into the mountains there's a huge expanse of nearly-land for your pleasure. Rivers, mountains, valleys, forests, and then the open hills as you go east into Nevada that are practically untouched.

Also, flatlands are boring from an /out/ perspective.

It is Washington. Lots of logging in this area in the 1920's-recently. But if you go a little farther into the mountains the trees definitely get taller.

Urban is the worst unless you are rich, then its the best.
Suburban vs Rural depends on commuting times, and nearby amenities.
Suburban life is not that bad, but IMO its very boring, but at the same time I feel that there's a lack of privacy, (no secluded places to hang out, people know each other, etc), I would prefer Rural.

Its gets worse the farther east you go. There are more and more goblins and other international minorities in the cities as you go east, and they smell.

>live in suburb up in the hills of New Zealand.
>can go down to city in a twenty minute walk, or go up to the hills with another twenty minute walk

Best of both worlds.
