I actually agree. They hit a good spot, with LFD but no LFR, and the 10/25 normal/hardmode splits. Five-mans were casual and raids both needed a group on the server and could be anywhere from easy to hard depending on what you wanted. And the old world was still the old world, not the shitheap they turned it into in cata.

Yes essentially it's been reduced to raiding a set amount of hours per week and then maybe spending a little extra time on checking your garrisons. Everything else in the game has become completely trivial to do, so all you really need to do is to put in 3-4 hours of playtime 3 days a week for even mythic raiding.

Yeah, last time i played more seriously was in MoP, was raiding heroics. Not too serious since it was end of expansion, but still progression was main goal and clearing everything before WoD hits. Pretty much everyone else was a normie in that guild, maybe few NEETs. Other people in that guild pretty much just logged in to raid, so pretty much you can play like that. Of course it's always better to play little extra to get some flasks and foods and shit since it helps, but it's not that time consuming like in earlier expansions.
I actually still had lot of fun in that guild, felt like i was part of something. Got attached to those damn normies. Then it all broke down and haven't raided since. I'm still thinking about those days but of course they don't think about them, everyone moved on.

Somewhere in MoP (I sat that xpack out) the guild broke up and vanished, when I logged back in in WoD all the people I knew were long gone, just one or two people I barely remembered and that didn't remember me. The few people I know IRL that played with me were done with the game years ago and don't want to go back at all, and I'd give anything to raid with them again.
They got lives and gfs and jobs and such and I didn't. I feel bad just wishing I could play with them again, because I know they're so happy that that time of their life where all they wanted to do was play video games constantly is over.

I really would like to raid again since it was so much fun, but i'm scared that it consumes my life, when i was raiding i pretty much did nothing but played WoW. I think a lot of the people aren't from the US, so their time zones are different. Their spike hours are anywhere from like 10am to 4pm EST, and I'm not really awake during those hours. I usually just level with my friend or do dailies when I play, so it doesn't bother me. They have anywhere from like 500 to 1000 players on at a time, and I'm pretty sure that's nothing compared to servers like Nostalrius. I've never been a fan of overpopulated servers though. Excalibur suits me well. Only issues are client freezes, missing content, shitty scripting, and AI pathing issues. Oh, and the fact that it's strictly a PVP realm. Not crazy for the dickheads that gank all day. Just do a BG or Arenas and make it worth your time.
Really I just want to go back and get my Hand of A'del title. One thing that bothered me about WoW was how somethings you could only get if you played at the right time.

Vanilla was shit tier. People only like it now due to nostalgia. Bc was made for raiders. Non raiders had nothing to do in Bc. Wotlk was decent if you don't include togc. Cata's first raid tier was amazing. After that it turned to shit. Mop was simply amazing. I loved the quests and Pandaria. The raiding was excellent, although soo went on for too long. Wod is fucking awful. I was the first warlock to reach 100 on my server and the first to get the ring. I quit within 3 weeks.

Vanilla wasn't shit tier, but it wasn't polished. It had the most Warcraft feel to it though. I thought BC was far and away the best expansion, WotLK was a solid xpac that didn't quite match BC, I agree with what you said about Cata, MoP was absolutely terrible I quit pretty quickly and didn't play again until it was gone, WoD had a pretty cool leveling experience and literally nothing else.

so on this new wow server, old titles from unlocking the bug vanilla raids, and some faggots from an enemy guild did the crap to progress the quest and if i remember right 3 fuckers ended up with scarab lord title and the cool bug mount
this pissed me off to no end, because i absolutely hated legacy titles and show off mounts, to make things worse when the server opened up to transfers, faggots moved to my server and would sit on their amani war bears in dalaran
my shit guild eventualy absorbed the rejects of a failed guild whose officer clique disbanded and transfered off server, so my guild picked up the rejects from that guild, so many rude and bad players, some of them even had computers so shit you'd see them unable to do anything in certain raids because their computer couldn't keep up
also i joined a pve server because i didn't want to do pvp anymore, instead an arena clique formed in my guild after the reject absorbtion, the guild master started playing arena teams with these assholes and then i noticed loot preference going to people that played arena
the final straw was when, that retarded argent tournament came with anub'arak as the boss

my guild by this point was so shit and disfunctional that we couldn't even do the first boss of heroic 25man, since i could actually play i still got into the 10man heroic group, the part of our guild that could mostly play well (even then they brought some bads, some retarded mexican chick who always fucked up)
so anyway, the arena clique that had formed in my guild was effecting the pve raids negatively including horrible comments on teamspeak and gloating, they had formed their own 10-man group all arena players who beat the ulduar 10-man heroic achivs to get their drakes and they showed off HARDCORE about this before quitting the guild but obviously not before the guild master had passed all the loot to their members from 25-man argent tournament raid
