I've nearly finished my second year. Have not made any friends or spoken to anyone on my course or at uni in 1 and a half years. My social anxiety is at the worst it has every been and I have major depression. I'm still recovering from my mental breakdown last year. Grown ass adult here who works in tech. Biggest client I work with is probably around 55% female, mostly people from mideast, India, SE Asia, and Africa. As for white people, we're in the minority, and we have ones from US, Canada, Australia, South Africa, and UK.
This isn't even unusual anymore, thanks to all the H-1B Visa people. Actually, I only worked with one place that was majority white, and that was just because they were a startup...and they still had quite a few women working there.
I see departments with a lot of white people...marketing and do-nothing middle management shit. Perhaps that's how those studies are getting skewed.

Only do art if you're absolutely 100% committed to it, 100% of the time, and already show promise at whatever it is you do. If you can honestly say that no matter how shitty, lazy, tired, etc. you feel, you're going to want to make art and improve your artistic abilities as well as you can, then it might be a good idea to pursue it. Otherwise, do something else, or get a degree where you can start a business selling artwork or something. The arts are way too competitive for someone who's only partway committed to it.

I wanted art. I enrolled in art and hated it. I watched writers take writing and journalism thinking it was useless. I ended up writing for a living even though I never wanted to do that. Just study what you can do every single day OP. There's always time for art.
I'm in my second year of a Bachellor of laws. Its a lot of work because I'm not conjointing (which is the norm at my uni) so I am taking more law papers than normal in 1 year. Still I should shave a year off my degree and save some money. Also I have friends and a gf and live in a flat with some friends cause I'm not an autistic sperg :D

All the teachers are pretty much centrist or centre-right. You'd think that there would be a shit load of politics being discussed in class, but there aren't, especially in the mathematically inclined courses. It's in the electives that I have to take where politics are brought into discussions that shouldn't even occur. I took a philosophy of law course and on the first day of class the teacher talks about how she hates Stephen Harper. In a humanities course the teacher randomly starts talking about how IQ is a pseudoscience when we are supposed to be talking about the Renaissance. In a poli-sci course about economic societies the lecturer I had was based and neutral, but the TA was constantly shitting on Adam Smith and talking about how she loved Marx's critique of capitalism and how Keynes was right about everything. Yet, in my Economics courses all the teachers tend to shy away from politics and remain neutral.
