I'm trying to figure out where to go in life and can't figure out whether to get a diploma in IT from TAFE or go study CompSci and I don't know what Uni is best for that. Are there any decent Software engineering degrees in Australia and would it be of benefit over compsci if I enjoy programming a lot?

I went to tafe before uni and to be honest all I want now is a comfy net admin type job at a high school.
If you want to do the same do a traineship (they come up every other month on seek), they give you a tafe cert and experience.
If I was 18 again (22now) I would of done this and then in my spare time at work leart programing on the side to get by making shitty websites and apps.
Net sec is going to be hard to get into, you really need to know your shit and then find a entry level job and work up the ranks until you are a pro.
