I used to love dogs, I nursed three strays I found half-dead back to health and gave them to my cousins who live in the country. Now I just hate them. First of all, cats and dogs are indeed contrary when we look at their behaviour:

Now we can see that cats reflect the robots personality more than dogs do. If dogs are the chads of pets, loud and outbursting, cats are the women of pets, moody and leery. The average robot recognizes himself in those traits and is more willing to accept such an pet, as he would accept a loud and demanding dog.
