I'm serious. African colonies varied immensely in education, infrastructure, political maturity, etc. the congo (which is where Empire of Dust takesp lane in) was one of the most backwater colonies and was completely abandoned without near no preperations. Then you have places like Ghana which were supposed to become very prosperous but the government fucked it up.
The black classes of intellectuals weren't allowed luxuries during colonial times and suddenly they were put with tremendous amounts of power. They became enormously corrupt.
