Generally, the best way to kill bad habits is to watch pov match recordings of people who are actually good at the class you want to play and figure out why they do what they do. This holds true in pretty much any game.
For more specific advice, the #1 thing that pubstompers forget about is that, in organized matches, the players on other team actually talk to each other. If you're at low health, you should assume that all of them already know it. If you're out of position, then if even one one of your opponents sees you, all of them will know it immediately and won't wait around to rek your ass.disclaimer: I was never actually good at the game
