Damn 8 years is a long time, i believe it can take quite a while for the issues to disappear (from what i've read anything from a couple of months to over a year). At least permanent issues are rare. Pretty bizarre that SSRIs/SNRIs are prescribed like candy, especially for males. I believe there are meds that can help fix the problem, like bupropion if i remember right.

yeah, Bupropion often increases libido. Thing is, part of the reason I'm so depressed is because I'm an old virgin, so turning myself into a hyperhorny fuck might not be for the best-and aside from that, zoloft honestly made me feel a lot better, and helped to calm my constant mental obsessions and anxieties. Thing is, masturbating WHILE on zoloft is actually pretty nice, since it takes forever but feels great and you can just sit there and stroke it forever, but not being able to get totally stiff anymore is kind of a buzzkill.
In short, the jews took my foreskin, then they took my erection: my only conclusion is they want to destroy men for being men through careless medical attacks on the male libido.

I think the horniness tones down pretty quickly, at least it did for me. If you have various anxiety and OCD/obsessions/intrusive thoughts issues like me it might not be the best med though (at least not solo).
Anxiety issues are such a horrible thing to deal with, very often treatment resistant and all the viable meds come with significant drawbacks. Benzos are insanely addictive and literally gives you alzheimers, almost all of the anti-depressants are fuckery and the stims might make you feel good for a time but then you crash with massive anxiety issues that last ten times as long as the good feelings did. Best feeling i've ever got out of a med was zopiclone.

I was only diagnosed with depression, but I would bet anything on being diagnosed with OCD, given that I have every symptom. It's fucking terrible. Zoloft made me feel much, much better.
Will probably just go back on when I can afford to go see my piece of shit doctor who won't just write me a script over the phone because of muh state law. My old hippie doctor used to do it for me all the time; she was cool as fuck.

Tried cipralex and venlafaxine, both made me despair pretty damn hard (and the dick issues scared the shit out of me) so i was only ever on them for about 2 months each. Probably gonna end up trying an SSRI/SNRI again since i simply cannot deal with my reality in a functional way and there aren't really any alternatives except getting an ADD diagnose to mess around with stims or somehow manage to get a good MAOI prescribed to see if that works (my depression is closer to atypical, and MAOIs are supposedly much better for that than regular anti-depressants).
If zoloft really worked for you, you should just get back on it if you feel like it, or try another SSRI/SNRI (since it worked for you) if you feel like there's room for improvement (very hard to know though).

It's the only SSRI I've ever taken, prescribed because it jived well with mom's depression.
But fuck, I need to get back on it. Bad. I'm just so miserable I can't be fucked to fill out the poor-people form to get a smaller fee to pay for the office visit. I get upset just looking at all the crap to fill out.
