I'm also considering polling deep tumblr as well, they've certainly got quite a few robots and apprentice wizards of their own kind, but I figured I'd stick with more familiar territory for now, and work my way up to that since it will probably take some guile to get it working smoothly. I was talking to a friend of mine, and we stumbled upon an interesting trend among other robot-y types we knew IRL. We thought about it a bit, and wondered just how big Nurture factored into the equation.

We think it might be related to disparities between parental cultural upbringing and the robots own. Most normies appear to have very similar upbringing to their parents, which results in similar people.
Most of the robots we could immediately think of have experienced vastly different scenarios from their parents growing up, and seem to be a little emotionally distant from them as well as a result, which might have had formative effects.

The exact factor being tested I think I'll leave vague in case it might bias people's responses to try and prove or disprove, but it shouldn't be terribly hard to deduce if think about the question.
