Hey r9k, just got a ticket for going 12 miles over the speed limit. By the chart I would owe $198.10 which is fucking draconian but whatever - I broke the law so I'll pay the fine.
The real question I have is this: when I show up to court do I have to pay the fine immediately? I'm broke until Saturday and I don't want to piss the officers off.
You might can get deferred payment. You can call the courthouse probably and explain you're a pathetic loser

You also might want to see if they still let you do the deferred adjudication- aka three strikes rule, so you don't have a speeding ticket on your record, which causes insurance to go up.

Different state, so it may be different. But, I had around a month after that to pay.

Assuming I don't get the deferred payment (this is my first ticket I don't know what I'm doing), would I have to pay the ticket immediately at the court or what?

You pay it before the court date, you autist

If you arent going to challenge the ticket just explain to the judge about your pay day schedule and hope he's lenient

Yeah you would usually pay cash or check at the cashier window on/before court date.
You don't normally do the whole actual full on court/judge thing for traffic tickets unless you try to fight it.

why not just go to court get a court date to avoid points?
