I started reading them this morning but it was an unexpectedly busy day for a random Tuesday. I was expecting to sit around screwing about on wow and reading those comics, but I ended up actually doing work for once. Made sweet sweet money though so more mtg for me when SOI is out.
I'll have another look tomorrow - from what I did manage to read he has a biography of himself (with pic) and info about his accident, bios for each character (the black guy hero is called STYLE and one is a werewolf I think), and something that was either history or some short stories - customers started swarming me then so I had to put the reading on hold. I don't know if it was well written or not, I didn't get into any actual content. He's pretty well spoken for a lobotomozed guy, though, so you never know.

Also do you have any experience with at least farm/countryside life? Living off the grid in the middle of nowhere sure sounds like romantic idea but isn't as easy to pull off as it sounds. Especially for women because you give up on many achievements of modern civilization and have to refer to old ways of doing stuff, which often involves bruteforcing, and ofc males are better for that for obvious, biological reasons. For example chopping wood with axe insetad of using chainsaw/woodchipper, which requires either gasoline or electricity, depending on saw. Both require you to get money to buy it or have enough knowledge and skills to produce your own electricity. Even if you settle near river and pull little home-made water powered power plant, don't expect to get as much energy as you get from professional power plant.

I used to hang out with a lot of nerdy tyoes so I just played vidya a lot, learnt to play mtg, yugioh, listened to metal, watched anime (like ten years ago before the weebs ruined it), tried to be their friend more than a girly girl. It worked a bit too well and I ended up running a comic shop that then sort of morphed into a game store instead. Somehow I ended up running a business and paying for a house (rent, anyway) on my own, living alone and being generally forced to be self sufficient when all I actually wanted was for some guy to like me. I've lived in the countryside before, kept chickens and grown vegetables. I worked as a bird of prey handler for a while so I'm not squeamish, there was a lot of pulling chicks apart. I'm not intending to have any animal bigger than maybe a couple of goats, though.
My idea of off the grid is a little different and probably shouldn;t even be called that. Solar panels and well water is fine but what I'm looking at is still having an income via the internet to buy whatever I can't make. Well, then your vision of living off the grid doesn't look that much out of reach. The thing with solar panels is that they won't return their cost if place isn't very sunny. For example here, in eastern europe it isn't efficient at all. Also obviously it also doesn't produce as high level of electricity as normal power plant. I'm not sure if you'd have enough power to spend fucktons of time with computer to work through internet while powering more essential things like water heater, but I'd have to look more into power output of solar panels in relation to how much sun place has. Also remember seasons exist and it changes through the year. You basically have to consider that the closer to nature you are, the more you have to submit to it. If you use sun heat to heaten water, you have to take shower while it's still warm, not at 1am or something. You might have to change habits depending on the season.

Most of them will talk to me because I'm in the line of work I'm in and it's pretty usual to chat shit with customers all day. This was all years ago with the trying to be cute stuff, though, I've pretty much given up on that now. I'm hoping Spain is as sunny as I remember it being when I used to visit as a kid. I might need to get a generator as well just in case. I spend most of my time on the computer - at work it's on all the time - it'd be nice to get away from it a bit. Although my primary source of income would be the very low profit margins on buying mtg booster boxes from my wholesalers and selling them on Amazon. Or opening them and selling the cards, I'm going to experiment with a few and record what I pull, average profit per box on unopened vs opened, before I decide what to do. I'd make regular videos about life out there and get myself a youtube channel and maybe post on here as well, even when things are going wrong. I'm not sure what the winters are like in Spain so I'd need to do plenty of research.

I actually lived in the top of my shop for a year, it was basic and I had to go to the local swimming bath to use the showers, so roughing it shouldn't be a problem. The conditions in the Spanish smallholding actually look a lot nicer than the ones I lived in. It saved me a lot of money in rent though, and helped get the business off the ground.
Other than the cards and general buying/selling of merch I already have suppliers for I was thinking something like Etsy. Making soap, honey, herbs, candles, chocolate and candies if I could source the ingredients cheaply enough to make a profit on them. I'm going to learn some basic carpentry skills before I give up my normie life, I might be able to use them to make sellable junk as well as the basic repairs I need the skills for. Boxes are pretty basic, or maybe get a woodturner and make dollhouse furniture, or design and flatpack those. The local town is pretty close so I'd have to see if they have a market or car boot sale I could sell fruit/eggs/produce at as well. But yeah, Amazon and my regular wholesaler would probably be easiest.

Most of people have ideas but don't realize how much it takes. I had to occasionally life in a car and use public bathrooms etc. To be honest, I actually liked it. It's pretty nice for an "adventure". Especially that feeling of freedom. You have all your possessions with you, you can always move somewhere else, nothing binds you.
Still, for practical reasons I'd pick small town or countryside and prepare for stuff "just in case" with some "off the grid" options. Being connected to the grid, but also have options of using your own resources if anything happens or you just feel like it.

I am still young so I get to have that feeling that if I meet a person, I can give it my all and they might like me.
