While I also wouldn't go for the intervention, you should probably be more forceful with her than you are now. If everyone is just letting her be because "she just needs space", you might find her hanging from the ceiling one day, or missing altogether, because nobody around her ever had any idea about what she was up to.
At the very least you should be pushy with her until she actually tells you what she's doing. There's nothing too wrong with it if she's just fapping the whole day or writing gay fanfiction, and you should tell her that much when questioning her, but there definitely appears to be something wrong and it's better to be safe than sorry.

It does sound pretty bad, but I've done it, it really isn't (unless it's put on your record then maybe, I'm not sure if it is). They pick you up, take you to the cop car (for me they just walked me there, no force unless force is given), cuff you because procedure when getting into the back of the car (from what they told me), then they drive you to the closest hospital psychiatrist and stick with you until it's your time (they uncuff you obviously).
