My girlfriend is an alcoholic. I have tried to help her stop - addiction psychiatry, no alcohol in house, not having alcohol myself, not taking her out to places that have alcohol - but she is a free woman and makes her own choice to go out and purchase alcohol only to piss the bed and forgot what she did.
I am struggling so hard with everything that she is doing.

She might not try to stop until something really bad happens in her life attributed to her drinking. I think that's what's called a "bottom", hitting your bottom. I've also heard it many times that alcoholics don't really stop and remain sober until they themselves are ready to stop, which goes back to what I said about her having something terrible happen to her which should make *her* want to quit.
