Nah for some reason the acting and writing was awful this season, and I didn't mind the previous netflix seasons.
Lucys acting was the worst probably trauma after she got choked by that Iranian guy, literally seemed like she was on drugs and had pornstar, high school drama class tier acting skills.
Every storyline was awful especially Lahey and Jroc and his black son.

This. Lahey is fucking incredible, but there just wasn't enough of his fucking shit up. There's also a lack of malevolence that was present in the old seasons; remember when Lahey was literally plotting to kill the boys?
It's okay. It's still leagues ahead of other sitcoms; caught a few minutes of The Ranch on Netflix the other day and was reminded by why I don't even fucking bother with most sitcoms anymore.
The boys ending up in a Maine prison in season 7 after being chased by the most drunken and insane Lahey ever was where things should've just ended.
Nothing seems as genuinely greasy it did in the first 7 seasons. Remember the hash driveway, their homes all being burnt down to shit, and Sirus and his cockweasels trying to kill the boys? That shit was the fucking peak of TPB, and you just don't get that kind of greatness anymore.
It feels too staged and cartoony now, just riding on the fact that the boys are the boys instead of a documentary about a particularly weird group of trailer trash. I also don't like Julian trying to run this presumably successful casino, I don't like Jacob as a character, and his replacing Trevor just ruins the whole dynamic.
Again, it's ENJOYABLE, just don't expect the former greatness to return. Ever. Oh, and J-Rock sucked in this season.
I personally didn't like somethings about the season but I still love TPB. I dealt with it and finished it, and Lahey did incredible. He was mainly the one making me laugh the whole time.

I should've been more specific relating to Jacob: What I don't like about Jacob is that he's been used to replaced Trevor instead of developing into his own character. His dynamic with the mustard tiger and Julian was more interesting than this wannabe-Trevor shit that's been pushed.
Also, I don't like how rickyisms are pushed into EVERY episode. It used to be hilarious, now it's just trite and forced.

Oh. I kind of get it now. I'm only up to episode 2 of season 8 (and it's kind of fucky), though, so I haven't really seen Trevor go down that route.
And I feel you about the rickysms. They're kind of Lahey's shit analogies. Except those are usually cleverer, making them more funny.
On anothe note, I watched Say Goodbye to the Bad Guys last night. Really fucking great to send off the original run of the show.

In season 10, there are like 3 rickyisms in every episode minimum. None of them are clever or believable like in the original run: No Juhlapeno or Rakkids.

Show peaked with Season 4. Slid down after that but the first two Netflix seasons were alright. This was just fucking awful though.
