How do I redeem a 2:2 at University?
Is my life over?
Not sure if it's the right place to ask for advice, but, yeah....

>masters i applied to calls
>offered an unconditional place in environmental and nano science
fells good man, dont worry just keep putting cvs out and youll get something, and if its not what you want use it as a stepping stone

pretty much this desu
Your grade at uni may reflect how your academic intelligence on the subject, but practical application is more impressive. Get a relatively junior role and work your way up.
>friend got a 2:2 in Geology
>Started off as a mud-logger ('shit bagger') on the rigs at 21k (GBP) /year
>6 years later is a senior eservoir engineer on 4x initial wage

What year are you in OP? Anything that's after sophomore year is pretty much a lost cause with that GPA. Like others have said try to get actual work experience in the field you're majoring in, since prior experience can counterbalance the shit GPA.

Would Universities with an entry requirement of 2:1 consider me with a 2:2 based on other merits?
I actually have 'extenuating circumstances' as they call them, which I might explain in the personal statement..
The civil service fast stream only requires a 2:2, very competitive though
It depends. You can go all in out or a little in. I wouldn't suggest going in a little in. GPAs aren't as simple and straightforward as you think they are. They're a whole mess of things you might be happier not knowing about. You have been warned.
