I blame my poor memory on stuttering. Because it was difficult to talk, I barely said much, and that meant there little point in storing details. But it's also very possible that my autism gave me hyper focus and I just never cared about most things.

I agree with you that this is true. Imageboards are more fun than forums, but it's a double-edged sword.
