Retail drones who are your least favorite customers?

My vote goes for lotto niggers.

They want 20 individual tickets. All different types of tickets, all different custom numbers.

Proceed to spend forever punching them in with autistic precision as the line grows.

When the powerball jackpot hit record high a few months ago omfg.

I just wanted to fucking end it right there.
>>
>>27618024
>ideal customer
One that knows exactly what they want, is polite and gets that you're a simple worker making a living, and is out of there quickly. Small talk and friendliness is a nice plus too.

they grab the part of the company that they can reach, man. i think the truth that the store and company is so far beyond their reach that their issues don't matter at all is too sobering a realization for them to really have.
>>
>>27618098
That's also fine. I just find it a nice bonus when someone treats me like a human being and not a machine.

I was in food service and had some regular customers that would do this and we built a nice rapport with each other.
>>
>>27617943
>I'll be taking my business elsewhere!

The emptiest fucking threat ever. Half the time I see these people the next week and they just pretend nothing ever happened.
>>
>>27618098

Like if you're buying an unusual snack you could say "Have you had these before? They're pretty good." It doesn't have to be much. It doesn't even have to be anything. You shouldn't worry about it.
>>
>>27617953
>Hopefully all the white moms will fake enough niceness to me

White middle class mothers as the most entitled customers in the world. You will hate them with every fiber of your being.
>>
>>27618069

I think everyone has those certain products or customers that just take way too long. I always comfort myself with the thought that the people in line are probably hating the person in front of me and not me.

My worst customer is ones that are trying to dump all their small change on you. It just takes forever for them to count out their money.
>>
>>27616860
I don't understand what retail workers mean by this. In what situations would complete fucking retards think they deserve free things?
>>
>>27618159

This is true. If they don't have to work, they get too isolated from the real world to be decent people.

Clueless, rude, stupid, entitled, full of pointless questions, makes leading remarks about the problems in their life expecting you to ask following questions, debates over which item to buy for 10 minutes before settling on the cheaper one regardless of any advice you've offered

I'm the vendor guy

Some fat bitch actually said this to me, but I still saw her buy 10 2L bottles of soda
>>
>>27618198
Trust me, 9/10 times the cashier doesn't care overly much about regulars like you. If you talked about the weather they would talk back and it would break the ice.

I also got out of my autistic sperg stage by small talking with cashiers and random people too.
>>
>>27618161

Small change used to bother me when I worked fast food, but that's because at Taco Bell we're supposed to get every customer out of the drive thru in less than 70 seconds. Never mind the fact that this is physical impossible on some orders, but simple orders that shouldn't take 30 seconds were dragged out by morons counting change. Then upper management bitch out our managers for not meeting time who then bitch us out for not meeting time.

Now that I'm working retail though I'm super chill about change.

Seriously if you have a quick, simple transaction with your cash prepared and in hand when you get to the register you are a cashier's dream. People that spend all day deciding what they want and fumbling with cash while the line grows behind them, or that unnecessarily complicate the transaction are what cause irritation. Not to say that you should never ever do these things but at least be polite and apologetic when you do. It shows awareness that cashing takes two and that you're trying to do your part as the customer to make sure things go smoothly.

People that come in acting like they own the place and like they know best are much more irritating. Like, it's my store. I maintain this business, I spend 8 hours a day here as a professional worker, I know how shit works around here. You don't get to tell me how to do my job.
>>
>>27618138

The thing is that, for most of the businesses that the people in this thread work for, it wouldn't matter even if they did keep their word. It's one customer among thousands, it won't even be noticed.

This is a retail thread, so I posted wrong like an idiot.

When you work in cable, old people LOVE YOU when you fix their problem.

Their TVs are SO IMPORTANT TO THEM. They don't care about internet usually. Phone is sometimes a thing, but man, that TV...

And it's usually an easy fix, too. Like they've got something wrong with their TV settings or remote.

Often, they're super grateful toward you or offer you a tip.

The impoverished and the elderly are the most understanding people and they are appreciative when you do a good job.

Honestly, sometimes I wish my service area was more in the ghetto.

last year..or maybe 2 years ago now
go grocery shopping at safeway
see the planks of cheese on sale for 4$, usually 12$
when im paying it comes up as 8$ say its labeled as 4$
we disagree and we then go to check the price
she points out the big bolded price(4$) is how much you save
admit defeat and mention that that is a really stupid way of posting a sale price, she agrees and says they are doing it the way sobeys is now.
decide not to get the 8$ cheese
a week or 2 later they no longer post prices like that anymore, either i made a good point and it was brought up to corporate or there was enough other people who also ended up being confused as fuck and they realized the fuckup.

now when they have sale prices the big bolded price is the price you are gonna be paying, but i now lean in to check any small print incase they fuck up again.

No actually, the register does that for you. It's easy for the customer to mental math their single transaction but when you're juggling hundreds in a shift with a bunch of other things just no. Anyway your example IS one of those other things, an irregular situation of making a typo of which there will be MANY. Although if they're clever they may realize they can just give correct change regardless of typos and the register will come out even.

In my country they got rid of food stamps because it was "demeaning". People should be able to pay with money and spent it on whatever they want.
Welfare in my country is: Free housing and 450 bucks to spent on whatever you want to.
The average full time worker has less than that to spent after housing costs. That's why 95% of all immigrants leech off welfare.
I wanted to ride the train too but they said parents too rich, you are white and able to work, so they'd cut the money. Only trash like subhumans can leech off welfare. Everyone white ends up as a wagecuck.

Even in America, there is always a convenience store/bodega in the ghetto that gives cash for spending EBT cards there. Usually by overcharging for and then refunding some cash, with a percentage deducted for the service.

Example:

>Buy $20 bottle of soda with EBT card
>get $18 cash back
>>
>>27619460

This must be an American thing I've done retail for like 9 years through school and uni and never heard this from even the most enraged cuckstomers

I have hearing problems and can't always hear unless a person is in front of me speaking clearly.

One time I was leaving work, at the checkout still in my uniform because I was buying a few groceries before I left, and this guy stormed past me saying "YOU JUST LOST A HUNDRED DOLLARS WORTH OF A SALE!" And I didn't know what he was on about so I ignored it.

A lady in the line behind me said, "he was walking behind you calling out to you earlier, but you didn't hear him."

Well fuck me right? Like I really care that some guy took his business to another store. I don't get a fucking commission on what my store sells. I get the same tiny paycheck regardless of how well they do. I hope that fucker NEVER comes back and takes all his hundreds of dollars elsewhere.

I apologize to him but he still says it's unacceptable and we should have more registers and we should do "this" and that". I started to get tired of his shit and just simply said "it is what it is". Well this guy got so fumed up he waited up at customer service for an extra 20 mins just to tell the guy up there (who was my friend btw) that I'm the worst person ever etc... Then he writes a letter to corporate about how shitty I am and after that he actually goes to yelp to write a review about our store with a whole 3 paragraphs dedicated to me.
