I only answer the phone for numbers on my contact list. Unknown number don't even ring anymore.
20-40 robo calls a day for "free cruise; just enter your credit card number" or "has you credit card been stolen? Enter the number now to find out" or debt collectors looking for some woman who used to have my phone number, have essentially made my phone unusable.

It won't help. the 20-40 calls a day are on my cellphone, which is on the "do not call" list.
All the callers are calling from fake numbers, usually one digit off from my cell number, in random area codes. They're all scams, so they don't care about breaking a few other laws.

Everyday I got ATTENTION THIS IS NOT A SALES CALL in a robotic voice then proceeded to pitch a sales call. It called from a different number every time too. With that and the Red Cross spamming calls at me, I stopped answering my phone unless someone leaves a message.
