At what age did you robots grow out of metal?
>>
>>27609423
When I grew in to looking like a total nerd
>>
>>27609423
It makes me sad when men have beautiful, long hair and then they cut it.
>>
>>27609423
not yet.

then again i dont listen to edgy metal becaue im not a faggot
>>
>>27609487
long man hair looks fucking disgusting and degenerate
>>
>>27609487
>men
>beautiful, long hair
There are a few exceptions but generally men look bad with long hair. I'm not even talking about that meme manbun haircut.
>>
>there are people that unironically think the one above looks good
>>
>>27609531
But it looks good on me bro
>>
I thought I grew out of it at 16, but now at 23 years of age I listen to it again for nostalgia.
>>
i love metal and i dress like the second pic
>>
I've always disliked metal
>>
>>27609500
>>27609531
After stalking the long hair threads on /soc/, I changed my mind. There were so many men with gorgeous, shiny and tame hair that looked better than the what women have.
>>
>>27609554
That requires a picture anon. You might think that you look in a mirror but in reality take 2 points from estimated score.

I bet you like techno and hip hop haha

>There were so many men with gorgeous, shiny and tame hair that looked better than the what women have
These are metrosexuals not men. They spend more time improving their looks than doing something that actually matters.

looks like he just become a Hipster, and Hipsters dig BM so he never outgrow metal though
>>
>be second pic
>listen to punk
>how people look at you in a mosh
>>
>>27609629
Actually, when I asked some of them, they often tell me they don't do anything to their hair besides just shampooing and not using products.
A man I know personally who used to have hair halfway down his back had the most gorgeous, shiny, blonde hair, but all he used was head and shoulders. He'd often get compliments from girls about it and ask how he got such beautiful hair.

>>27609717
Cutie patootie alert.
So now that I've been talking about this, do you do anything special to your hair? What kind of shampoo do you use?

At what age did your body start growing metal appendages, robots?
>>
>>27609807
I use my mom's shampoo. Men with long hair often use shampoo marketed to females. Daily use, I know it's bad for your hair but it feels dirty to skip a day. Every two days I use conditioner. Brand differs but it's mostly either Glisskur or L'Oreal. I air dry my hair, wait until it's completely dry and then carefully comb out knots. Have to be careful as my hair breaks really easily.
>>
>>27609423
So he grew out of metal to became a pathetic nu-male cuck, what a fucking waste effort.
>>
>>27609487
I cut it because it made look too feminine, some guy start hitting on me on the subway until I started talking (I have deep voice)
>>
>>27609423
That guy is like 10/10 with long hair, just lose the metal shirt. (No homo)
>>
>>27610166
he looks way better with short hair, like all males
he just needs to drop the fag hairdo
>>
>>27610020

Yeah he grew out of metal to become an adult who gets laid.
>>
>>27609423
only hipster faggots grow out of metal
real fans stay 4 life
\m/
>>
>>27610222
>real fans stay 4 life
I literally cringe at those +30 so called metal fans.
>>
>>27609423
i pretty much quit it altogether from 15-20 and exclusively listened to indie and stuff like aphex, boards of canada etc. around 20/21 i stopped giving a shit before going to uni and got back into stuff like pantera, early slipknot and meshuggah after listening to black sabbath again, now i don't give a shit what people think. i was listening to dizzee rascal before them, so if anyone's vapid enough to care about someone else's taste i can impress them. if you listen to music for someone else you're a faggot, and most people prefer people who are comfortable with themselves.
>>
>>27609487
I had to cut it because I started balding
>>
Still into it, though I'm more into rock and blues nowadays
>>
I stopped listening to music in general. Occasionally I'll put on a song on YouTube while I'm doing something else but it's been over a decade since I've actually listened to an entire album. Seems a weird medium somehow now.

Around 22. I also grew out of punk at that time.

Metal is great if you're a teenager who hates his parents and wants to show the world just how totally brutal and totally not a pussy at all he is, but it's only that. It's a one trick pony. I think it really struck me when a cute girl asked me to dance and all I knew was to swing my arms around and whip my head like a down's syndrome retard.

These days I'll still give a random punk or metal band a chance if they're unique and talented enough, but overall it accounts for maybe 10% of my overall music collection compared to when it was about 99%.

>>27609487
I ironically only started growing my hair out after I stopped listening to metal.
>>
>>27610222

This nigga.

Though I admit I like the high energy 80's shit instead of the more... modern stuff.
>>
>>27610222
Ironically only hipster faggots are metalheads.

Easily the worst music community.
>>
>>27609928
Thanks! I find it interesting you don't condition your hair as often as shampooing. I always heard the opposite and people condition more often than shampooing.
It's amazing you have such shiny hair despite shampooing every day, too. I try to do it every other day, but I know what you mean about the dirty feeling.

>>27610063
I'm so curious to know what you looked like now.
That had to be awkward as hell though.

>>27610296
That sucks, anon. Some guys I work with are balding and one is trying to massage his scalp every day to help try to regrow some. He seems to think it's working, but I have no idea how he can bother doing it for two hours every day.
Balding guys can actually look very handsome too though. My uncle is crazy handsome and he has to shave it because he went completely bald in the middle.

>>27610469
What made you decide to grow your hair out?
>>
>>27610635
Massage is to stimulate bloodflow in headskin.
Probably couple minutes a day not hours

A few reasons I guess. I hate having short hair and having to style it every morning, I hate getting haircuts even more, I also had short hair all my life and having long hair (as well as dreads) was on my bucket list.

Also because I noticed that I was balding, so it was now or never.

I'm not as bald as pic related, thankfully. But then again he embraces that crazy look and owns it.
>>
>>27609423
I stopped dressing like a total douche when I was 17. Cut my hair, got some nice clothes, etc. My love for the music has only grown, though.
>>
>>27609423
i think that guy saw image + attached question once and told that he actually still listens to metal
>>
>>27610635
I thought people used shampoo more often. Dunno maybe I'm doing it wrong.

>>27610732
Same here, onset gets worse every year. Wanted to do this before it gets too bad. If it gets to that point I'll just go shaved head + goatee and muscles combo like my hero Nathan Jones.
>>
>>27610748
This. Metal is in the heart, not the looks.

ATTENTION BALDING GUYS! Get on minoxidil NOW! I started using it about a month and a half ago, and to my joy I yesterday saw new hair growing out where I haven't had any for years. Best decision I ever made. Also what that anon said about massage is true to; but use some castor oil mixed with tea tree oil in order to both stimulate growth and get a nice smell going.
>>
>>27611038
in which country are you
>>
I still enjoy the music, I just grew out of having to base my appearance and identity on the media I enjoy.
>>
>>27609423
this image always makes me so sad
it looks like all of his personality got cut off with his hair, now he's just like the rest
>>
>>27611038
>23

doesn't really matter senpai.

If you're still in your early 20s of course you still listen to metal
>>
I still listen to it, however, not exclusively anymore. Also I've never really dressed the metal part (except at concerts)
>>
>>27611038
>anime pillow

kys
>>
>>27611137
>now he's just like the rest

but in the first pic he looked like every metalhead ever just like the rest.

That's the whole irony of "look at how different I am as I dress up in my music's uniform" like metal and punk

and then he grew out of it, now he enjoys things without the need to conform to a particular image.

Same with the first image, except he looks like every other metalhead at a metal show.
>>
>>27609423
>implying I ever grew out of metal
Why would I grow out of something I enjoy? Not all metal is for angsty faglords, but angsty faglord metal is pretty cancerous.

i listen to metal but i don't grow my hair out that long, i like my hair longish-medium long

and i don't listen to metal exclusively, i like all genres

if i like a song i like it, the genre doesn't matter to me

but i mostly like 80s metal, i guess I'd say it's my favorite genre
>>

Metalfags generally don't care what wear, unless it's a shirt of a band we don't like. We're much more elitist about bands.
>>
>>27611657
Oh, and people wearing fake band shirts (these really exist, one store for hipsters in the UK even ripped off a real band's logo font) or shirts of bands they don't actually listen to.
>>
>>27609423
I never cared for metal
>>

I went to noise music and plain fast EDM.
>>
Still a huge metalhead at 26.

I work a business-casual job, but I still listen to my punk, metal, and industrial music, hit shows, go to the goth club, and all that. I'm not proud, but I can't quit it.
>>
Never grew out of it, tho nowadays i listen to more experimental/avant-garde stuff.

Never grew out of it, just became normalized aka regular haircut, t-shirts/button ups and regular jeans, still jam alot of it, mosty black metal, plus I expanded my musical horizons.

I think it is important to appreciate all kinds of music.

Fortunately that isn't the case for the guy in OP's pic, huh?

Never outgrew metal, but did have to conform to societal standards to make a fine salary. Just have to play the game sometimes.

I discovered American Football and it was the most perfectly beautiful album I've ever listened to. Then I slowly turned into a twinkle daddy.

I believe the ultimate progression of any teenage metalhead or pop punk kid is a twinkle daddy. Eventually you trade in the hometown hate and edge for tears and riffs in 7/4.

Also, that's Akari, and Akari is best Yuru.

That album is amazing; Never Meant one of the catchiest, most poignant songs I've ever heard.
