i've been thinking about this for awhile but i won't be in position to for a few more years, the best solution that is actually a real possibility is to buy land cheaply, due to a huge fire last year, and do weed farming in the mountains of northern cali. of course by the time i have enough money the land will recover mostly which means the property value will go up, but i mean, it is cheap anyways because nobody wants property in the mountains.

Because of the practicality of it. The money to begin with. You can buy a pretty decent amount of land already set up with farms, fruit trees, animals etc in France for under 100k. The problem is the work. Who gets to be in charge? Who cleans the toilets? Who makes the rota?
Then you need someone weel adjusted enough to pay bills on time. You need income. You need people willing to work together, which is the essence of a communt. If NEETS are too lazy and maladjusted to work in the world as it is, why would they be any different in a commune? It's just a smaller scale world with less comforts.

I've seen a couple of places in the mountains in France too. One had acres of land and 40 orange trees, a bunch of other fruit trees, an organic garden all set up, 2 yurts and a house on the land already, beehives, chickens, etc. It also had internet access.
Money would have to come from either online pursuits or selling produce at the local markets. It could be done, but each person willing to go in would have to have money and be willing to learn a skill relevant to living that way, such as beekeeping or carpentry.
I think the main problem that would arise from something like that is that it wouldn't end up being a peaceful commune of people who hate the world at large. It'd end up with people trying to grow weed and getting the whole place shut down, or doing stupid illegal shit and ruining it.
Also I'm probably not the only one on here who isn't a fan of authority, even I know I'd have trouble being told what to do by some 20-something who finally broke out of his mother's basement.

Im in the same boat man. I was prettu severely bullied from age 7 or something to age 16, basically anything but physical abuse as im bigger and stronger than most people. But even though i have never really been treated well by the majority of people, i cant do the same back to people who are in the same boat as me. If I had the money + land, I'd make a nice place for all of you. I'd have everyone on a strict schedule.
