See this is what I hate most about trying to get a gf. If I got a few opportunities to talk to them I could probably get close enough to them to eventually ask them out, but the thing is opportunities like the one in op's scenario just don't come around often enough or really, like, ever. So I'm just kind of stuck staring at them from a distance and hoping that we somehow get put into a circumstance where we could talk.
