I just about guarantee you won't be able to find a hardtop for less than $800 - it's pretty much always a firm $1k regardless of condition, and a bit higher in some other areas where they're just too rare. At least those are the prices in the US. My father has bought and sold several and I see them being sold and snatched up all the time in varying shape here. You'll just have to suck it up if you really want one. Also, I don't understand why some people buy a convertible if they don't like dropping the top - care to explain?

I don't really like top-down driving very much, and convertibles are compromised in pretty much every way, from the extra weight it takes to make them rigid to the fact that you can't take most of them on the track without installing a rollbar. The S2000 I posted above is a great car, but I'd drive it so much more often if it were a coupe.
