Is there any reason to not pick up shake compared to nuggets?
My dealer recently started selling 20$ 8ths of shake which last me just as long and get me just as high as a regular 8th. Which he sells for 45$.
He always seems like confused when I buy it over nuggets though?

Nugs are better. They stay fresher and taste better than shake.
If all you care about is getting baked then get shake but maybe you'll burn out faster on shake too.

If you smoke the shake in a blunt you probably won't even know the difference.
If you smoke out of a bong, you'll probably notice a difference on the first hit but maybe not if its good shake.

I feel like it's hard to get properly stoned with shake. Maybe a little high / buzzed but that's it. Also your guy is super overcharging you. I picked up a QP once for $100, ~$1/g. Shake is basically the worthless offal from the trimming process. Lots of people give it away for free or super cheap since it's mostly just used for making edibles or small amounts of hash - just to get SOMETHING out of it. If you're broke or you just want some cheap smoke to hold onto go for it though.
You better vape with that. Otherwise, enjoy buildup inside your lungs.

It's the shit that is at the bottom of a jar. Really adds up if you have a quarter pound in ine jar. A lot of growers bag up the shake that falls off the plants turing trimming. With a lot of plants it gets all over the foor. Some growers pay their trimmers party with shake and budlets too.
It's just dry as fuck and tastes bad but it'll still get you high.

I think you're confusing "shake" with bottom bag nugs. Traditionally "shake" refers to clippings, and while you may get some nugs, you're probably going to get mostly leaves and leaf dust. If you get bottom bag nugs, you're getting the leftover product that the dealer is having difficulty selling because it isn't as "complete" and people are skeptical about buying it. If you see lots of leaf in the bag, skip it. If you don't, you're good. Either way, $45 for an 8th is a terrible price. Where do you live? Burgerland?

i'm in a medicinal/legal state and they sell shake for crazy low prices ( ~$75 an ounce medicinally, ~$100 recreationally). the best part, is that it's often as good as the buds, but ground down for you in advance. kinda helps that there's legal checks in place though. when i was younger (and dumber), i remember having my "shake" get cut with grass/oregano a couple times.

What you are describing is the fine balance between habitual use and tolerance buildup that comes with any drug use. If you go hard at a drug, life only gets that much harder when you can't.
depends on the shake. if it's all or at least mostly small/broken down nugs, it's not a bad deal. if it's 40% or more leaf though, you should get much more than 1/8th for $20. I would recommend using a vaporizer , or buying it in bulk and making hash

You can make it with as much as you want. It will depend on how much butter you use and how much marijuana. As long as they are proportional to each other you can make a small strong batch with say...a qtr. Also decarb it before you cook it. Then let the butter and decarbed marijuana sit in a crock pot on low for 12-24 hours. I take it out at 12ish and strain with cheese cloth and cool

I've smoked some dank in the past (sour deisel, blue dream, candyland, etc.) and I like the high of the brick even though dank gets me high quicker. The best brick is super bright red and makes me feel like im having intense orgasms for a couple of hours. I could usually find some brick that is ultra fresh and sparkly with trichomes but sometimes I end up with garbage that doesn't get me the highs I like.
