My dad changed thousand of my and my brother's diapers, kept track of and scheduled and took us to doctor appointments, dropped us off and picked us up from school, attended parent-teacher conferences, helped us with homework, helped us with projects, cooked dinner (and he loved to cook, so they weren't cheap microwave dinners either, it was real food), chauffered us to our respective sports and summer camps, and participated as a parent volunteer at some of my high school events. They both had jobs, but they both made time to do the fun and not-so-fun stuff with us.
