To be fair I'm an American man and I wouldn't date a woman I'm embarrassed to be seen in public with either. At best I might hang out with them a few times and just bear the shame and once I'm done having sex with them I'll drop them like a rock. Sure if there was a really fun, nice, interesting girl that I see a future with I'd consider it if she was fat, but my tolerance for her nonsense would be greatly lowered and I would likely leave her the second she annoyed me.
The only difference between men and women is that women are able to have that option, they are able to get with guys way out of their league and can still have sex whenever they want, and get a boyfriend with only the most minor of difficulties if any at all. Whereas a man like me who refuses to lower standards will very easily stay entirely single for many many years on end.
